BenAnna countdown: 26 hours
An astonishing amount of work has gone on here today!
I am about to get ready to leave for the rehearsal - which is half an hour from home. But I want to let you know it has been an incredible day in which I have been blessed with so much help I feel like a queen!
I never could have accomplished this all without the help of Sophia, Samantha, Ceral (Sam's mother-in-law, who is visiting from California and who's been like a kind of honarary grandmother in our house since our children's grandmothers have all gone home to be with the Lord), Hattie, Jared and all the rest of the guys.
while I'm gone, people will still be here getting everything ready, and Anne and her daughter Christine are coming to help serve.
The day started with Sophia dicing onions:
Maddy ironing the tablecloths:
The guys staggered out for breakfast:
I wanted to use real plates and silver, but with 60 guests I just decided to let myself take it easy:
Wanted you to see this because of the sweet Norman Rockwell picture which is open there for the theme and to pick up the yellow (you can see it at the top of this entry - love Rockwell because every picture tells a wonderful story). Ben asked me to put it on my blog. I couldn't find it anywhere on the Internet, so scanned it from my book.
These Norman Rockwell books are great. You can either pop them open for your family to enjoy or if you get one cheap and want to take it apart, frame the pages as prints.
This one is from a book called Norman Rockwell's love and remembrance - a hardback book with 211 oversize pages of great Rockwell prints and some short stories and poems. Originally 49.99, 20 used copies now at Amazon for as little at 3.63. Highly recommended - I'd love to see them all gone tomorrow and know they are in good homes with my readers :)

Everything is looking lovely Barbara! How fun! I can't wait to see more pictures. I love Norman Rockwell too. Reminds me.....take the Norman Rockwell hanging in garage and get it on the wall. Who cares if it's not my decor. (It's the one with the little boy holding his dog in the vets office and everyone is sitting in the waiting room)
Love,
Shannon in Austin

Thank you for the great idea and visual! We just ordered one with an amazon gift card that somehow hasn't been used yet. Enjoy the wedding!

Your coverage of daily events makes me feel all excited too! I pray for lovely weather and a wonderfully joyous coming together of family and friends!
Wow, Norman Rockwell can really jazz up plastic! I've never seen plastic and paper look so elegant before...well done!
