BenAnna wedding report

It was truly a wonderful day! Ben and Anna's wedding was held at a beautiful retreat center called Meadowkirk, where Anna worked at a children's summer camp last summer. It's the kind of place where you feel the spiritual peace the minute you step onto the grounds. The weather was gorgeous. The wedding was at 5:30, which meant we had a leisurely day getting ready for the wedding.

Anna has three sisters who were matron of honor and bridesmaids - plus a cousin and a friend. The girls were all beautiful and radiant. Ben's groomsmen were three brothers and two friends. All were handsome and very serious.

Ben's youngest brother Justin was ringbearer. My granddaughter Trinity was flower girl.

There were about 90 guests, including Anna's aunts and uncles and the inlaws of her two already-married sisters.

Interwoven with the perfection were also a few rough spots typical for a big family. Our van - vying for attention? - broke down for the second time this week and we had to do some last-minute juggling to get everyone there. Daniel had an accident shortly after the ceremony and had to be brought home to shower and change, so Tripp missed the first 90 minutes of the reception :(

I didn't take a lot of pictures. I'll wait to see the pro shots - and share them - later.

But in the meantime, here are a few I took:

When Tripp and I arrived with Jesse, Daniel and Justin, we found Ben and Jonny outside the groom's door - a great place to give a final blessing:

The First Dance:

It was truly a dance-happy wedding!

One thing that was very special was that even though the wedding was small, the inlaws of Anna's married sisters were there and we all had a chance to share our happiness at our lives being now entwined with the Condons'. The three mothers-in-law all agreed it was like being in a special club - and here we are with the mother who made it possible. Anna's mother Lynny is in the blue dress.

After changing, Lynny, Tripp and I spent some private moments saying goodbye to our newly-married children. Ben and Anna were waved off by friends and family waving sparklers.

We couldn't be happier!

What a lovely wedding!

Everyone looks so happy.
What a handsome groom and what a beautiful bride. I love the look on her face as they dance.

Hey Johnny, what a style! You sure can carry a lady across the floor!

Many blessings and best wishes for the newlyweds!

OH! I have been waiting to see these pictures! How lovely! How wonderful! Anna has the sweetest smile, and Ben is such a handsome guy. I bet you are just so thrilled! I especially loved the picture with Anna looking at Ben during the first dance! How wonderful!

As a side note: Don't you just love digital cameras? They hadn't been invented when I got married! I think that couples get waaaay more pictures with the invention of digital. I was able to help capture a bunch of digital shots for a couple that got married 2 years ago. They did not hire a photographer.. Anyway, it was such a blessing being able to help the group of " photographers" who joined me, and to do it all for FREE.

Thanks for sharing your special day!

The pictures of Ben and Anna dancing are beautiful. But my favorite picture is of Zach and Sophia dancing. I'm not sure what it is about it, but I absolutely love it.

Congrats Barbara,
I love that you, Tripp and Lynny spent time with the kids before they left. I've never heard of that but I bet that was special. Reminds me of Steel Magnolias when Sally Field rushes out to see Julia Roberts driving away.
