BenAnna's wedding countdown: 44 hours - rehearsal dinner menu

Right now there are 10 young men - 5 of my sons and 5 of Ben's college friends whoopin' and hollerin' on the front yard while playing Frisbee. Tripp is cooking hamburgers and hot dogs and I am doing laundry (so what else is new?) and trying to stay out of sight as this is just the beginning of Ben's Bachelor Party.

I know you posted the Broccoli salad recipe. . .YUM! But, if you get a chance in the near future (post wedding recovery, perhaps?) would you tell us all about your rehearsal dinner menu? I just love hearing about how people serve large groups! Happy Wedding Day. . .and Many Blessings for the happy couple!

This really puts me on the spot as there may be food experts out there who think my menu is weird :) - I mean, I'm not an expert, so I just put together things that sound good. Don't know if there's a science to this that I'm missing :)

I originally was going to have chicken curry with a dozen toppings - that's a specialty of mine - but that involves a lot of last minute preparation and mess and many things that could go wrong. And with 60 people to feed - I jumped at Tripp's offer to cook pork tenderloins on the grill.

So here's the menu:

Pork tenderloins

Corn and black bean salad

Broccoli salad

Tortellini salad (Samantha is making this, so don't know her recipe)

Deviled eggs

Rolls and butter

Sweet and sour meatballs (will cook all day in a roaster pan)

Dessert:

Fruit tart (from Costco)

Jelly Bellies

We have six picnic tables (we used to entertain a lot) and I have 6 bright colored tablecloths I bought for Josh's rehearsal dinner (those were better days for us financially and it was catered, but I decorated). I also have these bright-colored Chinese carryout boxes I used then, and I am putting a pot of marigolds into each one.

Several people are coming over tomorrow to help me so I think everything will go well.

I will take a picture to show you what it looks like :)

Love,

Barbara!!! Thank you so much for answering my request. . .and so quickly! What a great menu--not weird at all. Grilled pork tenderloin is just so versatile. And the sides are perfect. Be it known, this menu will be reproduced! ;-) You are great to share it and your beloved guests will be abundantly blessed by the feast you have planned!

Happy cooking (and grilling)!
