Gardasil and HPV warning - get the facts, assert your rights

[If you have a daughter but little time to read, skip to the last YouTube to be informed about the unnecessary dangers of Gardasil - and why it's not a wise choice for your family. Or any family, really.]

No matter what your political persuasion - or even your feelings about abstinence/sexual freedom - we all have reason to be mistrustful of pharmaceutical companies, which lobby, lobby, lobby for ways to increase their profits.

Those cute commercials on TV associating carefree young girls with Gardasil are lying by omission.  The push is on to make Gardasil MANDATORY - another governmental intrusion into your life - this time in partnership with big business.

You need to refuse this shot for your daughter and she needs to see you stand up to the doctor and say no.  Discuss this with her and tell her why - an important part of the teen years is telling them how we make the decisions we do so they will be able to make their own later on - rather than be manipulated by the media.

If you don't have the fact on Gardasil, here's a good start:

CBS July 2008 report:

In August, CNN reported over 9,000 adverse reactions and 21 deaths:

YouTube is stocked with first hand accounts from families affected by Gadasil. Here, an 11-year old girl tells her story:

The problem for parents - like me - who have so far refused the vaccine is that Merck is lobbying to make it mandatory for school attendance. While we have compulsory vaccines in the US, they are for airborne diseases, not diseases spread through sexual contact.

Every parent of girls - who, remember, are seeing the TV ads or hearing their friends talk about the "safe sex" shot - needs to watch this video and discuss it with their daughters:

judicial watch.jpgIt seems like every day I am bring to your attention another encroachment on family freedom, but here is another action item. Thank God for Judicial Watch, which has used the Freedom of Information Act to get to the truth and make it public.

Currently in the Commonwealth of Virginia anyone can be exempted to vaccines by filling out a Religious Exemption form. Here is the kicker out there for those atheists/agnostics/lesser religious persons out there, according to Virginia Supreme Court ruling you do not need to declare OR EVEN HAVE a religious belief.

I am sickened by this...mostly because I got my daughter the first two of the three shots without even questioning it. The sad part...I fought getting my children the varicella vaccine b/c I felt it was irrational to vaccinate 12 month olds for it. But I blindly allowed the military clinic to sell me this round of shots.

ALTHOUGH...my daughter and I did talk about it and she does not believe that it is related to safe sex. I do wish that I had more info before we got those two shots!

It is so clear that we cannot trust any company or the government in our country these days. I am daily sickened by the things our government and courts espouse and uphold.

Thank you for this information, Barbara.

I blogged here about a doctor pressuring me and giving me false information about that vaccine. We have six daughters and I am dreading having that same pressure applied every time one of them turns 12.

it is really important to remember that there was no long term study of the Gardasil shot. There was only a five year study done, then it was released to the general public as a highly suggested vaccination. There is no knowledge of what could happen to the recipients five or more years after getting the shot. My own doctor told me that no one should get a vaccine that is so untested and personally would never let her daughters get it. Why then is it still marketed as such a miracle cure? Pharmacutical companies are so very corrupt that they are putting our daughters in the frontlime of a battle for control over our own bodies

Okay, so let me get this straight: A girl has a Choice Over Her Own Body when she wants an abortion, but some people would deny her that choice when it comes to refusing a dangerous, vaccination against a disease that isn't spread by casual contact....?

Hi I'm writing from New Zealand and have done extensive research in to Gardasil, what I discovered shocked me into setting up a website www.offtheradar.co.nz for parents to access information that the medical profession knowingly withholds from us.

thank you for this. I had heard of it a little bit, but didn't have too much info on it out here. we selectively/delay vax anyway, so i would not have casually consented at an office visit, but still...good to know this early on. my oldest daughter turns 7 tomorrow. :)
