MommyLife Summer Reading Club: Les Miz begins June 1
Don't forget: MommyLife Summer Reading Club is starting Les Miserables by Victor Hugo June 1.
Has anyone started early? I would, but one of my kids left the Curtis copy at college. I've ordered another and will start when it comes.

Barbara.I just wanted to drop a quick line to say thank you for your very convincing post about Les Miserables, the book.
It arrived just before the holiday weekend and the thickness of it caused me a little concern. I had to force myself to crack it open and start at the introduction. I have never read a book that "had me at hello" before. I find myself looking forward to each chance I can get to sit down and read (although the opportunities don't present themselves as readily as I'd like). I have also never found myself so wanting to make notes in margins and underline such lovely quotes as I have while reading L.M.
Even though I have barely made a dent in this tome, I am excited to delve more deeply into it.
Again. much thanks for giving me the gentle push I needed to tackle a book I would have never even considered previously.
In cast anyone missed the memo and would like to join us, you can read why I chose Les Miz here.
Want to join? Amazon can get it to you by the end of the week:

I read the introduction last night and I'm thinking I'm probably going to need glasses! :) I have an appointment with an eye dr. tomorrow afternoon!

I'm going to give it a try! This is really a challenge.
I have only read parts of it here and there. I have my Great-Grandmother's copy. She used it as a teacher. It is about a hundred years old and I have always meant to read it cover to cover.
This will be awesome. Oh, will you be breaking it down in parts week by week, or should we just read until you post?
I finished "Animal Farm" and loved it, but I wasn't very good at posting. I want to do better with Les Mis.
Thanks Barbara!
