Political roundup and resource links

Just so you know -

I will be doing more political commentary and finally finishing up Animal Farm next week. There is a lot happening every day and if you want the truth, you will need to use alternative news services. Our Dinosaur Media are functioning strictly as propaganda machines for the Obama administration. Witness Time magazine - boasting an Obama on the cover for the 17th time this year: The Meaning of Michelle Obama

Or watch this clip with Norah O'Donnell grilling Liz Cheney as though Norah were a district attorney (and btw, Liz Cheney sets an example for rational discourse even when confronted with a rude and biased reporterette):

The Republican Party seems to be finding its voice with Cheney, Rove and Michael Steele finally speaking up (those three links are all well worth reading, btw).

And btw, if the names Cheney and Rove make you wince, please be aware that it's because for eight years the Dinosaur Media vilified them, whipping up public sentiment against them - just as they do with Rush Limbaugh and Sarah Palin and any conservative who can articulately define and defend the conservative position. David Axelrod - Rove's counterpart in the Obama administration - is much more of a mastermind than Rove - see David Axelrod, Rasputin of the Magic Kingdom. And Biden - Cheney's counterpart - is a buffoon and a threat to our national security.

Please, if you are holding negative opinions about any conservatives, you need to do some real soul-searching and research and figure out how much of that is due to what passes as current "political wisdom" - based on on out-of-context remarks and judgments by others. I was shocked when I was out with a friend the other day and she characterized Rush Limbaugh as an angry man. I love Rush Limbaugh and have listened to him daily since 1990, when the Left was engaged on its crusade against Clarence Thomas, because with his strong African features and conservative views he didn't fit their mold.

Rush is truly right now the voice of conservatism - by default, not because he sought it. I'm sure he, as well as many of us, are hoping for some real champions to arise from within the legislative branch. He is a brilliant analyst and his optimistic outlook and belief in the power of the individual is impossible to fault. I cringe when I hear intelligent people label him based on what they've heard. And I challenge ANYONE anti-Rush person to listen to him for 20 days. Time after time, you hear people call in who began listening skeptically but who were pleasantly surprised by what they heard.

We have got to stop the media from defining who we are in the public square. The savagery they commit on conservatives and the fawning over liberals is just unconscionable ( a word that has become cheapened by overuse, but absolutely true here).

Obama continues to define himself by condemning and blaming the Bush administration, even while backtracking on Guantanamo and reaking his campaign promises to the Left.

Pelosi hangs on to her seat despite outright lies - in contrast to the history of Republicans requiring members of their own party who've been guilty of far less to step down. Read Why Pelosi Should Step Down (HI: William R) - by Newt Gingrich - another conservative destroyed by the media. gingrichcover.jpg(Some of you may be too young to remember that in 1994, when he was Speaker of the House, Newsweak magazine ran a cover of him as the Grinch, titled "How the Gingrich Stole Christmas - see, they've been at this manipulating public opinion for a long time. And until the advent of Drudge and blogs, they were unchallenged. Hopefully now the number of people who think for themselves will continue to grow.)

Well, it looks like I did the round-up I alluded to in the opening - after delegating the food prep in the kitchen. Next week I will be back to "serving up a smorgasbord of parenting, cultural, political and spiritual wisdom" including bringing you the news most relevant to the family - with the help of many of you who send me links each day.

In the meantime, listen to Rush and Laura Ingraham - I hear Glenn Beck is good, too.

And here are sites to visit (or subscribe to) - which next week I will put in my sidebar:

I absolutely love it when someone presents a clear, well informed argument and doesn't back down from pressure of twisted and manipulated information; I must say Chaney did an outstanding job exposing the illusion that other nations/terrorists abide by the Geneva convention. How stupid is that! how infantile! To believe that people who hate America abide by the golden rule is absolutely......absolutely.....I can't even find the correct word that fully expresses the meaning of such utopia.

How quick these people forget the real treatment our captured soldiers receive. I can only imagine what many former POW's feel like when they hear this kind of 'argument'.

Lord, have mercy!

What you said about Obama on the cover of Time made me curious, so I went to their archives and looked at every cover since the beginning of 1998. I only counted covers where Obama was clearly the main subject, or one of the main subjects in the photo, not one of "100 Most Influential People" or one of the small secondary stories pictured at the top. I counted 18 covers featuring Barak Obama (all since about December 2007, not even two years). I also counted 22 covers featuring George Bush -- in more than ten years, including the eight during which he was President and the time when he was running for office.

Bravo to Liz Cheney! Usually, when you interview someone you let THEM do more of the talking. Norah O'Donnell apparently thought the interview was all about her! Liz gave such solid responses. She did her dad proud!
