Exploitation and manipulation of the news: censorship and propaganda
Assassination of political opponents is a despicable act, period. Contrary to what The Left would have you believe, no true pro-lifer rejoices at the death of an abortionist, regardless of how they may have spoken out against his practice of radical abortion in the past.
It is still our right in this country to speak out against social injustice and practices we consider immoral - just as abolitionists spoke out about abortion and a few brave souls challenged the Third Reich as they saw their friends and neighbors stigmatized, threatened and eventually taken off to be eliminated.
I believe that just as the passage of time revealed that abolitionists - once marginalized and held in contempt - were eventually vindicated, time will tell that the pro-life position has moral integrity.
What is alarming is to see how any and every isolated tragedy is seized by The Left as a political opportunity to further their increasingly fascistic agenda. No wait, I take that back - it's not every event but just the ones that they can exploit while ignoring those they can't.
Some questions:
Was the pro-life community swift to condemn the murder of Tiller?
Have we ever seen a condemnation from the Islamic community of 9/11 or any other terrorist activity in our country or around the world?
Are the media careful to protect the Muslim community from blame for individual acts?
Did the media spread the blame from eco-terrorists who kill and injure fellow human beings to the entire environmentalist movement? How about UnaBomber Theodore Kaczynski? Was his reign of terror used to discredit environmentalism,?
Do the media use propaganda techniques and guilt by association (GBA) - which they railed against during the McCarthy era - to tar and feather innocent conservatives? The Oklahoma bombing - which may have been before your political radar kicked in - was immediately seized by Bill Clinton to scapegoat Rush Limbaugh. The Left loves to use GBA to smear its foes almost as much as it loves exonerating itself from GBA - as when defending Obama from questions about his attending race-baiter Jeremiah Wright's church for 20 years.
Lost in the murderous anti-Semitism of James von Brunn, were Obama's former pastor earlier this week:
"Them Jews ain't going to let him talk to me. I told my baby daughter that he'll talk to me in five years when he's a lame duck, or in eight years when he's out of office," Wright told the Daily Press of Newport News after a Tuesday night sermon at the 95th annual Hampton University Ministers' Conference."They will not let him to talk to somebody who calls a spade what it is. . . . I said from the beginning: He's a politician; I'm a pastor. He's got to do what politicians do."
Hate speech, anyone?
Not as long as the current hate speech juggernaut is being used by The Left to further their own agenda, but not as a moral benchmark to govern their own. For all the Government Media smear tactics, propaganda and railing - who is truly most guilty of hate speech? How many times have you read or heard those who present well-reasoned arguments for their political views shouted down and verbally terrorized for simply speaking of their opinions? I filter my comments, and though I do present well-reasoned responses to issues, you are spared the hateful and threatening comments I receive from Leftist fanatics who seem to have no intellectual skills but must rely on mudslinging and outright threats to intimidate their oppposition.
Why does no one mention the horrible material at Leftist websites and blogs - e.g., the Daily Kos - each day? And when you get down to it, wasn;t David Letterman's misogynistic rant about Sarah Palin hate speech? Couldn't that incite sexual violence against her daughters of other conservative daughters?
Most interesting: We have recently been provided a sharp contrast to the opportunistic, propaganda machine of the Mainstream Media. In between the Tiller murder and the slaying Tuesday of a Holocaust Museum guard by an isolated anti-Semitic lunatic, an American serviceman was slain outside an Arkansas recruitment center by a Muslim convert whose chosen name our media don't even want to breathe.
While ObamaMedia Inc. has carried relentless coverage of "right-wing" hate and of course smeared every conservative thinker they can with blame for the two murders that fit their political agenda - as though they finally captured the brass ring to begin their inevitable march toward censorship - they have devoted barely a passing nod to the clearly Islamofascist murder of a man in uniform
Have they dredged through this assassin's associations? Have they crowed triumphantly about his Muslim associations? Has Eric Holder sent agents to interview his associates, comb through his Internet and cell phone records?
Tiller's funeral - which never mentioned the A-word - was covered like that of a martyr. Did you see any coverage of the Arkansas funeral of this man in uniform killed on our own soil by a terrorist?
Is there any new interest in the terrorist training camps now tolerated and protected in our country?
In the wake of the Tiller killing, Eric Holder (under Janet Reno, the apologist for our government's fascist Waco massacre) - now the Obama Regime's Attorney General - sent US marshals out to protect abortion centers. Did he take any similar actions to protect recruitment centers?
What about those who campaign relentlessly against the US military - you know, those uniformed men and women who put their lives on the line to defend freedom? What about those who drum up hatred in high schools, campaigning to keep them out of high schools to present possible career paths which might involve serving our country in a very traditional and sacrificial way?
The thread connecting their anti-military sentiment with William Long's killer is as thin as that connecting pro-life organizations with Tiller's assassin.
I continue to ask: Can you trust our media? Which means you should be questioning every assumption, every opinion you have about those our Media has told us to hate.
And, btw, I have heard so many people since tiller's murder say they never understood what a "late term abortion involved." Do you see how much our Government Media and US education system keep hidden from us?
I find it interesting that the Left - which always touted itself as into "free love" "free sex" and the "free flow of information" has deteriorated into a shrunken corpse of its former liberal self. Today the rallying cry is Stop Free Speech! Destroy Your Enemies! Keep Women in Their Place! Shift Power From the People to Our Chosen Leader! Exploit Tragedies to Further Your Cause! Abortion Uber Alles! Long LiveViva Obama!
