MSG is really bad for us, and white sugar lowers the immune system. That is probably only the tip of the iceberg. I'd love to learn more, please sign me up!

I am sorry this is my first comment on your blog, I enjoy reading here very much. That said, I do want this book : ) Part of me doesn't want to read it though because I know it'll probably convict me to buy organic and as a family with a small budget, I can't help but think of buying organic as elitist.
I hate that.

I would like a chance to win. I am reading Nina Planck's Real Food right now. Catherine R. mentioned small budgets. It is overwhelming to consider making all the recommended changes withing a small budget.

I would love a copy. My 21 mo daughter must avoid soy as much as possible as it reacts with her medice, the research on soy is amazing - its not the greatest food ever. I am very curious to learn what other food falsehoods we have been taught.

Would love to read it. I've improved my grocery store and cooking habits so much in the past couple of years, but would love added knowledge and incentive to go even further. Been following your blog for quite a while, mostly for the Montessori and mommy posts. Thanks for the chance, and thanks for the blog.

I hadn't heard of this book before, either. We moved to the country and are attempting to sell free range chickens and also eggs to people in our area. It's very sad that because we charge a bit more than eggs sold in the grocery store there isn't much interest in them. People have no idea what they are eating. Thanks for all you do.

Posted by: Jennie Lou | June 11, 2009 10:45 PM
Actually, while I have not yet had the chance to read this book - my daughter (via other books) has been keeping up with this subject (and I am completely appalled !!!) I'd so love to have the chance to win this book!
Something else, I see nearly ALL the local schools lunch menus consist of healthy SOUNDING veggies and fruits that are strictly coming out of cans and probably contain little to no nutritional value (like canned peas, corn, pineapple, etc). Yet these same schools have banned pop machines! The hypocrisy is sickening!

I just found your site tonight and I've already passed the link on to dozens of my homeschool mommy friends! Love it!
This looks like a great book. We've been on the health (natural, local, organic) kick for a couple of years now.

This book could be a God-send for us! I am trying to lose weight and get off of blood pressure medicine, my oldest stepson has psoriasis and adhd, and i strongly suspect the behavioral issues we have with our daughter are linked with diet! We've also been dealing with allergies with our 16 month old son as well.
Just found you via a post on a friend's facebook and glad I did! Really enjoyed your article on what to do while Obama is deconstructing our nation! Keep it up (:

as I am pregnant again, I am making some diet changes. I am eating whole foods, cutting down on dairy and trying to cut sugar out all together. I have allowed myself some room to "cheat" on sat and sunday so that the process is not so over whelming. I think I am doing the right thing, but maybe this book can tell me more.

Hey Barbara,
I'd love to receive this book. I've grown up w/food allergies my whole life, and now have a daughter w/an egg/peanut/legume/fish allergy, and another w/a milk allergy. The typical seasonal allergies, asthma, eczema, etc... are in our family as well. I'm anxious to hear what you find out from this book. Thanks again!

I've gone from being completely oblivious about what we eat to learning something everyday that makes our family change our food habits. Sounds like another great source of information - once we know something we have to act on it.
