Cold cure: lemon juice, garlic, cayenne

sick kleenex.jpg I've been unable to write for a few days because I'm once again battling cold/flu/allergy/sinusitis - don't know which, but it is really dragging me down.

And all of a sudden it occurred to me that this was becoming a trend I don't like. And then it occurred to me that I had stopped a health regimen to which I attributed being consistently at my best: lemon juice in the morning.

Thirty some years ago when I was sick, my doctor - like me, dabbling in natural remedies - told me to go home and make a concoction of lemon juice, cayenne pepper and garlic. I called it The Cold Zapper.

So in desperation, I just crawled out to the kitchen to make myself one of those terrible but terribly effective drinks. I juiced a lemon, put in two cloves of mashed garlic and a teaspoon of Tabasco - stirred and gulped down as quickly as I could.

Will let you know how it works.

Also, tomorrow, I plan to start my morning lemon juice routine (I'll rerun it next). I want to stop drinking coffee anyway - it's too expensive.

Love,

Did "The Cold Zapper" work?
Thanks,
Annie

[Well, I'm better. I also started taking local honey and amoxicillin (I was desperate) - so I can't say for sure which cure did it. But I have a lot of faith in The Cold Zapper.]
