Does the Left have any dignity?

From CNS News:

Katie Couric Tells Princeton Grads to Avoid 'Nastiness,' Then Takes Swipes at Sarah Palin, Carrie Prejean
Monday, June 08, 2009
By Christopher Neefus

(CNSNews.com) - CBS News Anchor Katie Couric told Princeton's graduating seniors last week that they should avoid "nastiness" and then mocked Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin and Miss California Carrie Prejean, while praising Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, First Lady Michelle Obama and Judge Sonia Sotomayor. The latter two are Princeton graduates.

Ironic that Katie Couric, now set to marry a man young enough to be her son, is the "star" of a Dinosaur Media show now enjoying its lowest ratings ever. But oh well, as long as there are liberal colleges to yuck it up at your elitist jokes and make you feel young and cool. . . who cares about integrity?

David Letterman rips into Sarah Palin - including referring to her "slutty flight attendant look."

Chris Matthews compares Dick Cheney to Freddy Krueger (Friday the 13th):

Obama takes time out of his busy day to appear on a comedy show to order a four-star general to cut the host's hair:

So much for "entertainment." On the political front, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, who somehow skated past the lies that should have led to her resignation, refuses to meet with Republicans - giving the lie to the administrations talk of bipartisanship.

State firms cry foul over stimulus projects
Federal approach to contracting tilts toward bigger players
By MICHAEL JAMISON

KALISPELL - Across the nation, local firms can expect to lose billions of economic stimulus dollars to large multinational corporations, thanks to a government contracting scheme that puts paperwork speed ahead of community recovery.

Should we be surprised?

Oh, and Michelle and the girls, instead of coming home with Daddy, are keeping the American taxpayer ticker running with their sightseeing tour, necessitating all kinds of security and a separate flight home - while you're wondering how to use those leftovers tonight to save on groceries.

Oh, but she looks so happy - who would deny her the privilege? As a line from the musical Evita:

I'm their Savior,
They need to adore me
So Christian Dior me
From my head to my toes.
I need to be dazzling
I need to be rainbow bright
They need their excitement
And so do I

In the play, the song is sung by Eva, wife of Juan Peron. The two of them - while claiming to represent the common man - lived high on the hog while nationalizing industry in Argentina. They succeeded in making themselves and heir cronies rich while running the country's economy into the ground. Sound like anyone you know?

*sigh* so many things running through my head that I just won't say...except, it seems the president has sure made a buisiness out of popularity. I wonder what he will do when his popularity starts to decline...

This makes me so angry!
Our tax dollars seem to do more play than work.

Steve Forbes recently likened BHO to Peron.

Barbara, I just want to thank you for keeping watch for us. I don't have cable television, listen to public radio or podcasts, so if anything really important happens, I depend on my mother-in-law to call me to let me know. I wouldn't know any of this scary stuff if I didn't read it on your blog, and I'm being perfectly sincere. Thank you, and keep it up! I'm depending on you now too!

AMaaMOJ -

I might have beat Steve Forbes to the punch - I first noted the comparison on February 11, 2009 - Shedding Light on Obama - in which I ran the tune "Money Kept Rollin' In" from Evita.

That's right!

Also note that David Letterman, later in the broadcast, joked about Alex Rodriguez "knocking up" Sarah Palin's 14-year-old daughter. I may be from Chicago, but I still count that as rape, and joking about raping a 14-year-old is absolutely disgusting. But, I'm sure you'll hear nary a peep about it in the "state-run media".
