    The Little Red Hen
Hooray for a good work ethic! The little red hen asks but receives no help in her efforts to put bread on the table. Yet all who wouldn't help would like to eat. In a refreshingly old-fashioned triumph of moral consequences, they don't get to!
  • Noisy Nora
    Noisy Nora
Poor Nora! The loveable mousette experiences all the pangs of the child-in-the- middle, caught between the demands of baby brother and bossiness of big sister. Catchy meter, playful illustrations make for a wonderfully satisfying mouse's tale. Baby-Preschool

Family update: Zach's surgery today

ChristineDePisanWriting.jpeg Zach had surgery today - Dr. K put in a plate and six screws to stabilize his ankle. No weight-bearing for six weeks. I guess what would have been a major thing in most homes is causing little stir as we have been through so much with Tripp in the last year.

Ben and Anna came home last night and Ben came over to get his clothes :) All is well. The three youngest were very confused to see him - they must have thought he was gong away forever :)

Tomorrow night, Maddy and I will go to the Basilica in Washington, DC, where they film Mass for Shut-Ins, She is cantoring and has been practicing today, which is quite a wonderful bonus for being her mom. We are excited as we have never been to the Basilica and are going early so we can take it all in.

Tripp is going to see a Nationals game with our grandchildren.

Tripp and Sophia are now going to physical therapy twice a week together. Tripp had not followed up on physical therapy because of our copay situation - just felt like we couldn't afford it. But when we saw the results Sophia was getting, I urged him to go. They are going to a place in Landsdowne called BioMechanic Physical Therapy, which seems exceptional in their level of care. Highly recommended.

Sophia is going to rehearsals every night for Midsummer Night's Dream. She got the role of Helena.

Things are humming along, in spite of bumps in the road.

Love,

Yes, therapy is wonderful! Not the getting of it, but the benefits of getting it. I had rotator cuff surgery and credit my therapists with my full recovery. Glad Tripp is going now! It'll be worth every penny!

I love the Basilica! We try to take "family field trips" there a couple times a year. Enjoy!
