Netflix free trial
How do I love Netflix? Let me count the ways.
Seriously, our family has been receiving the red envelopes since 1998 (with only one or two problems - an amazing record). We have switched plans many times, depending on our needs and resources.
We've enjoyed seeing many, many movies that we would never find in your local video store. And - what's really wonderful is that we haven't had to look at what IS available in our local video store :)
What made me think of this was Sarah's comment this morning recommending Netflix:
You mentioned wading in the Blockbuster cess-pool. I agree with you wholeheartedly about the dishearteningly low quality of movies out now... it was enough for my hubby and I to do Netflix. It's actually cheaper too- we're on the one-movie-at-a-time plan for $9 a month, we can pick from ANY movie we want (they have a much better selection of classic movies than the local Blockbuster) and we're able to get via mail about 2 movies a week. We average maybe 6-8 movies a month, which at $5 a pop in Blockbuster would come out to $30-40 a month in movie viewing, but we just pay $9!! A good way to save money, time and aggravation. Worth looking into:).
If you've ever considered joining Netflix, maybe this would be a good time. By joining here, you support MommyLife - and can get a free trial.

Yes,
Speaking of saving money...
With all of the options on Netflix, with the exception of live sports, we have more than enough entertainment for $18.99 per month. We don't have to deal with the "cesspool" of cable. We have the chance to stream movies, documentaries and TV series, and we choose what to watch, with no commercials! When I hear about what people are paying for cable, it seems like a very low price. And we all get excited about the next "Red Envelope".

I'd also like to add that there are tons of movies that you can view instantly. If you have a converter box or an XBOX360 you can even view these movies on your tv!
We're on the one movie a month and unlimited streaming movie plan. I believe it's 14.00 a month. We don't have cable, but usually watch a movie in the evening. It's great, and saves us a bundle!

I have to agree that Netflix is awesome. Only provider that I have ever had that will lower their price (without asking) and if a movie doesn't get to you in a reasonable amount of time they have credited our acount before, again, all without me asking.
I can't say enough about the company. If I had extra money and if they are publically traded I would totally buy their stock!

I signed up for the free trial. I have been meaning to do this for a while.
What are some of your favorite movies?
[Look over in Barbara's Picks, although that's not an exhaustive list - I just add to it when I have time]
