Unclaimed Property - check your state

unclaimedproperty.gif

It's not even 9:00 and our family is a little richer.  I searched California and Virginia for the working members of our family and came up with 169.37 for Matthew and 85.39 for Tripp in California!

Getting our claims ready now.  Let me know if you find anything.

How does that work? Why would the government owe us money that we don't know about?

I also checked my mother-in-law's name (she passed away seven years ago also) and there is a check there from her auto insurance company - I assume a refund of her unused portion. Since Tripp's sister was the executor, we will let her know, because she can claim it.

At any time, state governments are holding more than $10 billion in unclaimed money and other property. Banks, businesses, government agencies and other entities across the nation are believed to still be holding at least this much. Some 30 million Americans are believed to have unclaimed money waiting to be recovered. Here you will find state government resources for finding and claiming unclaimed money and property.

States Beginning With:
| A | C | D | F | G | H | I | K | L | M | N | O | P | R | S | T | U | V | W |
Be sure to check each state in which you have lived.

Love,

Thanks Barbara. California was holding onto a whopping $9.50 that belongs to me. :)
