Why the Left ridicules women
Snippets below from The Daily Mail's Don Surber:
Why the left ridicules women
Too many American liberals cannot handle a strong, good-looking, intelligent, independent woman who disagrees with them -- and so they make the crude, cruel and sexist remarks -- including those about raping them or their 14-year-old daughters.
![]()
From left, the women are Katharine Harris, Carrie Prejean, Sarah Palin, Michelle Malkin, and Michele Bachmann.
These five women are are not the only ones that American liberals ridicule without fear. They are like little boys who cannot handle a strong woman. These women dare challenge them intellectually, and so we get crude counterattacks.
So-called feminists stand on the sidelines like so many Silda Spitzers or Elizabeth Edwardses or Hillary Clintons, standing by their menfolk while the boys treat women like dirt. Heck, Mrs. Edwards even served as her husband's attack dog against any critic -- even as she knew he was sleeping with his mistress of many years.
Consider the lack of any reaction by the left to David Letterman's crude remark that Gov. Palin is buying make-up for that "slutty flight attendant look" insulted not just her but every woman. How could any woman respect such a man?
And yet the left said nothing.
The next night, Letterman hid behind joking to fantasize about the statutory rape of Palin's 14-year-old daughter. . .
Letterman will get away with it because liberal misogyny is OK in America. It has the Seal of Approval of the National Organization For Women . .
This is what happens when you do not look at people as individuals, but rather as members of a group. Many liberals think all women must act a certain way, otherwise they are deviants and therefore, targets. The same with black people. This is why Clarence Thomas and Michael Steele face racism that is not visited upon the president. .

I know there is a very small segment of the left who are standing up for women regardless of politics. These are (in general) the PUMA's who were disgusted with the Democratic party after the sexism they saw during the primaries with Hillary.
Most of the mainstream liberals bash them for daring to stand up to the liberal machine, but I do want to point out that they exist somewhere!

I was a liberal during my young adulthood, but was horrified at how the left treated women during the Clinton administration. The Paula Jones case was a huge turning point for me in my journey home to conservatism (yes, I was a conservative revert). Feminist hypocrisy is alive and well.

I have been amazed and horrified by the venomous attacks on conservative women. The only liberal woman I have seen defend Sarah Palin is Camille Paglia, who rightly saw Palin's VP nomination as a huge step forward for feminism and who could appreciate Palin while disagreeing with just about everything Palin stands for. Unfortunately, I meet very few liberals who can respect a person with whom they disagree, especially a woman.
Hopefully, women around the country will be encouraged by the prominence and respect given women in conservative circles and will respond to it by being willing to listen to conservative arguments and policies.
In the meantime, it was disgusting to watch Contessa Brewer DEFEND Dave Letterman. I couldn't even watch the whole video, I was so angered by her response. I hope that after her confrontation with John Ziegler she looked in the mirror and thought, "What the **** am I doing?"

Wow, it seems that those remarks really struck a nerve. Even NOW is standing up for Palin!

I hate that the GOP face seems to think that Prejean deserves a spot among people like Malkin and Palin. She is a fresh faced girl who used her body to get places. I have yet to hear her say anything intellegent for her age. My ten year old knows taht it is wrong for a man and a man to "marry". To me, Prejean is everyting that is wrong with the Christian Right. Double standards. The Bible says being gay is wrong. The Bible is also very clear on women causing men to stumble with their lack of clothing and seductive eyes. Yes I know Palin was in pageants too. I didn't say she was perfect. I seriously hope that people get over Prejean soon. I can't even watch Fox news now that they fawn all over her. Ugh. Real women, real Christians, don't have to parade around in bikinis and non covering dresses to show that we are worth something.
