Kate Smith sings God Bless America

An amazing piece of American history - Kate Smith introducing Irving Berlin's "God Bless America"

btw, the expression "It ain't over 'til the fat lady sings" was based on Kate Smith, who was an American icon. (Back in those days, fat wasn't as common as today - think about those old family pictures.)

Wow. I sit here with tears in my eyes, thinking it should be a requirement for every single American to listen to that-often. Really makes you grateful, doesn't? And it makes me appreciate our boys 'over there' even more thatn I already do. Thanks for the clip!
