Obama federal health care petition - just say no!

From my Inbox: Congressman Bob Goodlatte - no kidding on the name :) - has set up an online petition called NoFedMed and is asking us to sign and forward to friends.  I have and I am:

Friends-

Last night President Obama spoke to the nation about his plan to "reform" our healthcare system. The "reform" he spoke about would lead to a Washington takeover of our healthcare system - one defined by federal regulation, mandates, a myriad of new big government programs, and a significant increase in federal spending. The so-called "America's Affordable Health Choices Act" will do nothing but turn our healthcare system over to federal bureaucrats, which is not the "change" we need.

Make no mistake about it, President Obama and the liberals in Congress are advocating for a federal takeover of our medical system. While we can all agree that our current healthcare system is flawed, I am 100% opposed to this legislation and will do whatever I can to defeat it.

While I am going to work to try and persuade my fellow members of Congress to oppose this legislation, Nancy Pelosi will do whatever it takes to pass it... and she will likely have the votes she needs to get it done.

That's why I need your help right now. We need to work to make sure that this federal takeover does not pass the U.S. Senate, and we need to let Senators Mark Warner and Jim Webb know that Virginians oppose this legislation.

Today I am launching a new website www.NoFedMed.com which will allow citizens from all across Virginia to sign a petition to let our congressional leaders know that you oppose any effort to federalize our health care system. I will also be running online ads all across the state asking Virginians to join in this effort and oppose this legislation.

Please click here or go to www.NoFedMed.com right now and sign the petition, then forward it to at least 10 friends. I know that we have the ability to stop the federal takeover of our medical system, if we work together.

Sincerely,

Congressman Bob Goodlatte
Virginia's 6th District
Love,

The line about the profit-hungry doctors really upset me. Will Obamacare dictate that our children can't get the best treatment for their conditions because there's a cheaper "fix" that might not help?

He already said that the elderly might just "take pain medicine" instead of having surgery to fix the problem.

Is this how he plans to "contain" costs?

It is appalling that this Administration and the Congress is trying to dismiss our Constitution and over two hundred years of proud history (Yes, I am proud to be an American) in an effort to convert to Socialism. Wake up and do not be sheep following the likes of bad shepherds like Pelosi and Reed. THINK. If Obama is so concerned about the low income citizens and aliens then why was the Social Security cost of living increase scuttled for two years.
Surely, you must be smart enough to see through this fiasco of a health plan that is being proposed. Yes, our present system must be revised but presently it is better than that proposed by Congress.
