Obama on Independence Day - as usual, all about him

saint obama.JPGAs to be expected, rather than invoking our founding as a unique and noble moment in the history of mankind, our Glorious Leader Obama only seized it as another opportunity to advance his Marxist agenda. From the Washington Post:

Obama Summons "Spirit of America," Seeks Support for Initiatives

By Scott Wilson

President Obama today invoked the "spirit of America" to argue for health care, energy and education reform in a July 4 radio address that compared this moment in U.S. history to the turning points of past generations.

"We are not a people who fear the future. We are a people who make it," Obama said in his weekly radio address. "And on this July 4th, we need to summon that spirit once more. We need to summon the same spirit that inhabited Independence Hall two hundred and thirty-three years ago today."

Obama's health care and energy reform plans are moving through Congress, and raising concerns on both sides of the aisle regarding their cost and impact.
He has asked Congress to send him legislation on both issues this fall, an ambitious timetable lawmakers may not be able to meet.

In his address, Obama called the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, economic recession, escalating health care costs, the U.S. reliance on foreign oil and the poor state of public education "an array of challenges on a scale unseen in our time."

But he said that his political opponents have not grasped the urgency of resolving these problems. He rejected the frequent criticism that he is trying to take on too many issues at once, recalling the early revolutionaries in defending his ambitions.

"These naysayers have short memories," Obama said. "That we, as a people, did not get here by standing pat in a time of change. We did not get here by doing what was easy. That is not how a cluster of 13 colonies became the United States of America."

Notice how OGL (Our Glorious Leader) must ALWAYS make mention of the enemy - the enemy being the "naysayers" who have anything at all to say concerning specific pieces of legislation - or who have the temerity to actually think they should have time to read legislation before voting on it.

Dictator or cult leader - what do you think?

I believe Obama to be a stark raving lunatic, along with all his Kool-Aide drinking followers!

My family fought in the War of Independence, although I'm sure the Obamessiah's family fought in the War of Independence as well...the war for a FREE, MARXIST KENYA that is !!!

I guess he figures it's better to race in and screw it up fast then to take our time and think this through (thereby avoiding costly mistakes).

He's shrewd. I think he'll want to eliminate the two limit restriction soon.

My, but that presidential seal looks an awful lot like a halo behind his head...

To suggest our president is a cult leader or much worse, a dictator, on the 4th of July is very disappointing. It is also insulting to the American people. You are very smart and insightful. Keep the discussion above board, and it will encourage a more fruitful discussion, unlike the "stark raving lunatic" comment above.

[I stand by what I said about Obama. He is uninterested in anything other than his own agenda. I think he suffers from narcissism and he has behaved as a dictator or cult leader.

What is insulting to the American people is not my observations and opinions - or anyone else's. What is insulting is the continual lying and fear-mongering and manipulation by Team Obama. What is insulting is that our education system has not prepared people to think and evaluate their leadership. What is insulting is a media who thinks the death of a pop star is more important than the threatening circumstances in which we find ourselves. What is insulting is one citizen -you - telling another citizen - me - what I should or should not talk about because after eight years of shredding Bush and the current shredding of public figures like Sarah Palin, we are not supposed to say anything against Our Glorious Leader.

And, btw, I think the Fourth of July is a PERFECT time to make these observations as Obama has burdened the population far more than the King of England burdened the colonies. He has made us more dependent and enslaved. And a whole segment of the population exists who are so mentally enslaved that they cannot tolerate any form of dissent.]

As Christians, healthcare should be a very important issue to us. It is very complex. The fact that we have such a high % of uninsured in our country is a reflection of our values. How can this be improved without simplifying the issue to a nationalized healthcare solution?

[I disagree. The numbers of uninsured are manipulated to make the problem sound worse than it is. And insuring the uninsured should not call for a major overhaul of our system - really a power grab by the government to take over yet another aspect of our free enterprise system]

I didn't tell you what you should or should not talk about it. I simply suggested keeping the conversation above board, in order to generate more thoughtful responses that can generate a productive conversation. Although I disagree with a lot of Obama policy, I do not fear him as a dictator. I continue to have confidence in our democratic process. Your blog is certainly enjoyed by many because of our freedom.

Regarding healthcare, it is a problem that needs to be addressed even if you think the numbers of uninsured are overinflated. There are too many working people who are not insured. As a result, they do not seek care before a crisis. When they are sick, they often seek the most expensive care, such as emergency rooms. In the past, many ethical physicians would write these charges off, or work with the patient on a payment plan. As healthcare becomes controlled by larger corporate providers, many now require these working people to open a credit account at rates like 18% to pay for their care. As I stated above, I think this problem can be solved without Obama's suggestion of a national healthcare alternative. However, I do think it will require some sort of legislation or a change in how healthcare is currently provided (i.e., through employers).

Dictator or Cult Leader...

A frightening mix of both.

Given your thoughts on this, then even you must see that Obama's Healthcare Initiative is like swatting a fly with a Howitzer. Congratulations on doing something about the fly, but you've destroyed the house in the process, and, whoops, there goes the fly winging out of the rubble anyway.

Obama is a wannabe dictator with a cult following, and between the czars and the state media, he is quickly acquiring the infrastructure to become a full-fledged dictator. I too have thought from day one that he isn't going anywhere after two terms. His demeanor, decision making, and drive convey he won't leave without a fight. Add in voter fraud and tampering and he may be in that White House for a long time, until enough of the silent majority actually do put up a fight. I don't even think Obama understands the foundations and principles upon which this country was formed and he certainly doesn't respect or acknowledge them. As Yoda would say, "blinded, he is."
