Teaching children to pray without ceasing
Reader's Pick for today:
The Monk Who Grew Prayer
From Amazon:
Review:
Although ostensibly a children's book, The Monk Who Grew Prayer appeals to a wide variety of ages and literary tastes..Synopsis:
A monk prays deep in the forest. It looks like he is doing just simple, ordinary tasks, such as chopping wood and and tending to his garden. But as he works he is really growing prayer. The monk prays continually throughout the day and night, and, as the seasons pass, he becomes a holy man. This delightful, beautifully illustrated book teaches children that no matter what they are doing, or what hour of the day it is, they too, can pray.
This is another gem I've discovered from Amazon purchases made through the MommyLife link. While I can't see who buys what, I can see the items and I love to browse them for new ideas.
I didn't know there was a children's book to address the Pray Without Ceasing/Practicing the Presence concept I refer to in Lord, Please Meet Me in the Laundry Room and so often here.
But imagine being able to introduce this to your child in the preschool years in a way he or she is capable of grasping - through story!
Amazon is having a 4-for-3 Sale now, so if you have a wish list and the resources, it's a good time to order. By using my link, you help support MommyLife and my showing up here every day rather than getting a real job :)
