Obama at Dover AFB to receive 18 Afghani troops

[Update: Obama shame: our troops need leadership, not photo ops]

This is the first time that I know of - and you are welcome to share if you have more information - that Obama has personally acknowledged our fallen troops.

Hoping this is not just for political show and praying for Obama to acknowledge - as he promised - his role as president of all Americans, not just those who agree 100% with him.

Grateful that he went and praying that his heart was touched:

President Obama Attends Dignified Transfer at Dover AFB

Obama Fallen Soldiers

As his decision on Afghanistan war strategy nears, President Obama made a surprise trip to Dover Air Force Base Wednesday night into Thursday morning  to attend the dignified transfer movement of 18 U.S. personnel who were killed in Afghanistan on Monday.

The dignified transfer is a solemn movement that is conducted for every US military member that dies while in service in a theater of war.

The 18 killed included service members and Drug Enforcement Agency agents.

Like you I pray that this is not for show...I pray that he suddenly just realized he needed to think more about our troops...afraid he just realized crap this looks bad because this is the largest number of fallen troops in one month since the war started and I still haven't made a decision...better go and show 'em I care.

See that's the sad part about the whole thing...we (well, the ones I have talked to anyway I of course can't say we as an inclusive) the troops, the troops families question his motive and one should never feel like they can't trust their Commander in Chief...he needs to start making some decisions before we lose more!

[Malissa, I'm afraid I agree with you. I guess there were some other publicity stunts last night at the ball game? It seems like an orchestrated effort from a group who for nine months - and more - has been saying "To hell with the military."]
