Palin's book out November 17 - #1 at Amazon
Sarah Palin's first book was due out next spring, but earlier this week her publisher announced that the release date had been bumped up to November 17 as the manuscript had been turned in early - something that rarely - if ever- happens in the publishing world
Within a few days, it had shot up to #1 at Amazon - on the strength of pre-orders.
You can preorder at Going Rogue: An American Life
Palin was assisted in writing the book - as virtually every celebrity/politician/public figure is - by the very capable Lynn Vincent, a professional writer many of you are familiar with from World magazine. As a writer, I appreciate that Palin chose to go public with her collaboration rather than going along with the usual ghostwriter scenario (as the Obama bio Dreams of My Father, written by William Ayers).
Palin and her family reportedly went to San Diego to stay at Ms. Vincent's home for a few weeks to work on the project. Evidently, they were quite a team. Palin's publisher said:
"Governor Palin has been unbelievably conscientious and hands-on at every stage, investing herself deeply and passionately in this project," Burnham said. "It's her words, her life, and it's all there in full and fascinating detail."
Going Rogue: An American Life will debut with 1.5 million copies. Palin's title is a reference to a charge made within the McCain camp during the final phase of the 2008 campaign and pushed into public argot by John Dickerson in an October 20 Slate story: "Has Sarah Palin 'gone rogue'?"

I'm sorry, but I do not think Michelle Obama has any clue of what a "sacrifice" really is!
