Curious George Christmas - PBS tomorrow - and a giveaway!
Yes, I am a purist when it comes to holidays and would not normally watch anything Christmas until after Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving needs to be honored for what it is and I feel that doesn't happen when we are rushing into Christmas.
So for your kids' clarity sake, I would suggest you DVR this tomorrow and wait until after Thanksgiving - which I hope you're making a big deal of - to share it with them.
And by all means, do share it with them. Although I'm not eager to promote Christmas entertainment that doesn't even recognize the birth of Christ, in this case I'm making an exception because this is such a sweet and tender movie which emphasizes - without sermonizing - giving rather than receiving.
There is so much kindness and happiness in this movie. I love the voices - Curious George is so sweet and lovable. And I am inspired as a mom to slow down and do a better job of appreciating the small things. I think this one is worth adding to your Christmas collection.

I have had this marked on the DVR for a week! My kids love Curious George. We buy the books whenever we see them at the thrift store too.

nowadays it's so hard to find wholesome cartoons for children to watch. Curious George is one of our favorites. It's a great teaching tool because he is a monkey he does things that children can't do or aren't supposed to. We love Curious George in our house.!! Happy Thanksgiving, Barbara.

Thank you for reminding us to keep our focus on Thanksgiving this week. I was beginning to lose that focus!!

We would love to win this dvd. In a world where television content is being pushed passed the envelope daily, seeing a cartoon from the days of old that still has the children hearts and minds at focus, is wonderful. I know we can feel safe watching Curious George without having to worry about underlying social issues.

Hi Barbara, we have some things to deal with today and so letting my son watch Curious George early this morning was a way to lighten the load. I was pleasantly surprised to see that it was a Christmas special, however, as I was busy dealing with the matters for today I didn't get to watch with him. What a nice surprise to see this on your site ... the dvd would be nice to be able to watch as a family. So nice of you!

Oh, I would love this!! With 4 kids 8 and under, an 11 year old crazy about monkeys, and 3 young adults who don't mind hanging around with the littlies to watch a kiddie movie, we would get a LOT of use out of this!
