George and Laura Bush visit Fort Hood

Not for a photo op - it was a secret visit after the terrorist attack which killed 14 and left dozens wounded.

They went because visiting troops has been something they've done for years with no fanfare or self-aggrandizement.

Somehow this photo has surfaced.  Jawan sent it:

Be sure - if you haven't read it already - to read  Thank you former President George W. Bush and former First Lady Laura Bush. a tribute by two gay guys who live in Chicago and spent years like other liberals bashing Bush, who've now seen the light about what a person truly worthy of the White House consists of.  The article has drawn 1210 comments by people who feel the same way.

Compare with The Big O, who thinks our troops are a backdrop for his photo op.
