  • The Little Red Hen
    The Little Red Hen
Hooray for a good work ethic! The little red hen asks but receives no help in her efforts to put bread on the table. Yet all who wouldn't help would like to eat. In a refreshingly old-fashioned triumph of moral consequences, they don't get to!
  • Noisy Nora
    Noisy Nora
Poor Nora! The loveable mousette experiences all the pangs of the child-in-the- middle, caught between the demands of baby brother and bossiness of big sister. Catchy meter, playful illustrations make for a wonderfully satisfying mouse's tale. Baby-Preschool
  • A Chair for My Mother
    A Chair for My Mother
A remarkably beautiful story told by a young girl whose mother is a waitress. Since they lost all their furniture in a fire, they've been saving mother’s tips in a jar – so they can buy a big comfortable chair for their whole family to enjoy – daughter, mother and grandmother. Life has its ups and downs, but there’s always lots of love. Ages 4-7

Thanksgiving in song - with love from Momma C

Tripp and I have gotten the turkey in. Before it gets too busy around here, I want to thank you all for being here. I started blogging almost five years ago because as a writer I wanted a more immediate way to connect with readers. I thank God daily (many times daily) for the gift of the Internet and the freedom to share here each day.

I thank God for all who are involved in raising he next generation - for while our hope lies in God, it also lies in how that hope is expressed in the next generation. Thank you to each of you who get up every morning with the same hope I have: to raise children who love and serve the Lord.

The tale of the Pilgrims is a rich reminder for us to give thanks for all the circumstances in our lives and to offer them to God, seeking His harvest - which can end up looking very different from what we had planned. Let us commit to loving Him more deeply this year, listening more intently for His voice, and offering each day as a sacrifice to Him.

In the following traditional Thanksgiving hymns, I looked for a variety of presentation styles. If you have an extra few minutes, share them with your families.

Be inspired!

Come, Ye Thankful People Come (lyrics at Cyberhymnal)

We Gather Together (Lyrics at Cyberhymnal)

We Plow the Fields and Scatter (Lyrics at Cyberhymnal)

Now Thank We All Our God (lyrics at Cyberhymnal)

Thank you so much to those of you who come here daily or just now and then. For ideas on how to enrich your Thanksgiving celebration with your family today, just click the banner at the top of the page.

Thank you for posting these! I have not learned how to read music yet and I tend to learn songs much easier if I hear someone else sing them. Now I have something to work from while teaching these songs to the next generation!

Blessings ~
