    Noisy Nora
Poor Nora! The loveable mousette experiences all the pangs of the child-in-the- middle, caught between the demands of baby brother and bossiness of big sister. Catchy meter, playful illustrations make for a wonderfully satisfying mouse's tale. Baby-Preschool

9 Curtises + Snow (update)

I have to admit, at my age I like to look at the snow through the windows. And make hot chocolate for the rest of the family when they come in.

But I did manage to take these pictures:

Art note: in the scene at the table, my kids are trying to recreate that Monet painting where no one is making eye contact. Can't think of the name . . . help, anyone?

Update: a couple of you have asked if I mean Manet - Cafe in Paris or Cafe Concert. The one I'm thinking of is actually hanging in my dining room, so I took a picture:

Several of you have identified this as Renoir's Luncheon of the Boating Party. Thanks, you can bet I'll never forget it now.

Was it Manet's Cafe Concert?

[That's not the one I was thinking of - but I looked it up and it's the same idea :)]

So loved these Barbara!! I just took some very similiar pictures of my family tonight, and I did the same as you, watching through the windows of the living room! (Our baby has a headcold) LOVEd your pictures though! we've had snow falling all week, but it hasn't stuck much, only around 3 inches today. You look like you've gotten plenty though!

Kristy in Germany

[Hi Kristy - I feel closer even though we're halg a world apart, knowing we both have snow on the ground :) I did actually go outside to take these, but I wouldn't let the kids knock me down and I didn't really play.]

It's by Renoir, "The Luncheon of the Boating Party".

{Thank you!]

Oh, now those are some fun pictures! Very fun!
I sure would love to see some snow... Anything more than a few inches wrecks havoc in my neck of California! I guess that's what driving to the mountians is for!

I hope you have a lovely time of bible reading at home today. We did bible/advent at home since we've got a few sick ones in the fam. today.
