    The Little Red Hen
Hooray for a good work ethic! The little red hen asks but receives no help in her efforts to put bread on the table. Yet all who wouldn't help would like to eat. In a refreshingly old-fashioned triumph of moral consequences, they don't get to!
  • Noisy Nora
    Noisy Nora
Poor Nora! The loveable mousette experiences all the pangs of the child-in-the- middle, caught between the demands of baby brother and bossiness of big sister. Catchy meter, playful illustrations make for a wonderfully satisfying mouse's tale. Baby-Preschool

Merry Christmas - never forget the reason for the season!

merry christmas.gif

I will be making  a conscious effort to wish everyone

A Merry Christmas this year ...

My way of saying that I am celebrating

The birth Of Jesus Christ.

So I am asking my email buddies,

If you agree with me,

To please do the same.

And if you'll pass this on to

Your email buddies, and so on...

Maybe we can prevent one more

American tradition from being lost in the sea of

"Political Correctness".

To one and All...

Jesus is the reason for the season!

Several of you forwarded this to me - thanks!

Is it my imagination or did we hear A LOT MORE Merry Christmases this year?  Until 2009, it seemed like each year Christians were getting more and more cowed into submission - getting generic "Season's Greetings" and "Happy Holidays" cards and biting their tongue when on the brink of saying Merry Christmas.

My theory is that this year we reached some sort of tipping point where it all began to seem a little ridiculous that our entire culture had bowed to the tyranny of a teensy minority, that we were supposed to acquiesce to the rewriting of our country's history and the attacks on our religious freedom.  We were supposed to hide our faith because we might offend others and we were supposed to feel guilty rather than proud that we lived in a country where until recently the true meaning of Christmas was acknowledged by our president.

So the pushback came in the form of taking back Christmas and of exercising our right to say Merry Christmas.

At Midnight Mass last night Father Escalante said that we not only have the right but the responsibility to wish others a Merry Christmas as this is an acknowledgment of our faith.  I agree.  While those who've tried to make Christians feel ashamed of their faith seemed to be prevailing for a while, those days are over.

It's a Christmas break, a Christmas program, a Christmas tree, Christmas shopping and Christmas spirit.

So from our family to yours:

Have a merry and blessed Christmas!
Love,

Bravo, Barbara. Yes, there ARE more Merry Christmas greetings this year. I think you are right on about the tipping point. God bless you and yours this Christmas and 2010. God help us all.
