Obama, Napolitano - soft on terroists while targeting citizens

obama napolitano.jpg I can't ignore the fact that our country is seriously threatened not only from without but from the extremely strange behavior of our Glorious Leader and his administration.

While I am conducting my life as usual and tending to my family's needs - as I'm sure you are as well - I am thinking;

What if all this stuff had happened while Bush was in office and he behaved as Obama behaved?

What if Bush had slammed the Cambridge police in a rush to judgment on behalf of his belligerent race-professional crony, but determined that the Ft. Hood shooter was not a terrorist and acting alone?

What if he had squandered taxpayer money on unprecedented parties, travel and vacations while humiliating private industry and telling us to tighten our belts?

What if he campaigned as a Christian, declaring his Muslim middle name and roots to be off-limits - then proudly claimed his true Muslim heritage, dissed church attendance and Christians while fawning all over Muslim leaders, extolling Muslim achievements that weren't really theirs?

What if Bush had been awarded the Nobel Peace Prize while escalating a war?

What if he had sent 30,000 troops into harm's way while announcing the date he would begin bringing them home?

What if he had campaigned on transparency, then headed the most secretive, closed-door politicking ever seen in Washington, DC?

What if his press secretary had belittled and patronized members of the press?

What if public schools had taught students to sing fascist-type paeans to Our Glorious Leader Bush?

What if Bush's Department of Homeland Security had complacently declared that the proof that a terrorist bomber had boarded a flight from Amsterdam with explosives and was only prevented from a successful bombing by an alert and responsive passenger who took him down?

Uh, Ms. Napolitano, that's not a sign the system is working. It's a sign that we citizens cannot depend on our government but must be ready to defend ourselves at all times.

But the most curious thing is why do I feel like these people just don't care? Why are they more angry at and intent on battling Fox News and Tea Party activists than those who would murder US citizens?

How can this be? The only conclusion I can arrive at is that these people want to see our country brought down and so are not particularly upset when terrorists are adding a note of mayhem and chaos to keep us all off-balance.

A wise leader would reassure us by telling the truth about the situation and taking strong steps to protect and defend us.

This is simply not happening.

And what would happen if Bush had partied on in Hawaii?

Oh, wait, Obama will be making remarks at 3: Obama makes first remarks after Napolitano says system didn't work.

More flim-flam from the Flim-Flammer in chief. Congress says they are being stonewalled and not allowed information about terrorist threats, Ft. Hood, or this recent thwarted bombing attempt.

Why is it that O&Co embrace petty tyrants and terrorists all over the globe and yet treat our former allies, European leaders, Christians, conservatives, Fox News, white cops and the military as enemies?

How are you feeling today?

Barbara, you comment on Twitter "soft on terrorist, targeting citizens" is right on.

I dread my return flight home this week. I'm traveling with my 4 yr old g'daughter. Security is already ridiculous -- reactionary rather than useful. Now, we may possibly face worse problems.

I believe every time I head into an airport, I - salt & pepper haired granny - am the target while profiling of Arab young men is not allowed.

What was it Franklin said - those who give up liberty for security get neither. We are now living it.

I just watched Obama's statement. He had more passion and conviction when he was promising hope and change on the campaign trail. It was annoying just to listen to his short, staccato tone as he looked down, looked to the right, looked down, looked to the left. Over and over. Please. And what's this stuff about the charges the terrorist is being charged with - attempting to destroy a plane? Um, he attempted to kill almost 300 people. It would be like charging the terrorists that flew into the trade center towers with destroying a building where people happened to be inside. I'm off to see if I can find more about these charges.

No kidding with the "soft on terrorism" claims.

Re: security at airport. I found that taking a child in a stroller (even if she is big for one, just a little unbrella stroller) helped us get through security. They let us go in the "handicap" line and were much more helpful than going through the regular line. Now once you get on the plane who knows? What a mess this all is.........
