Oprah: don't ask me to promote her show

[synopsis deleted]
Be sure to check your local listings for the time this inspirational encore presentation. Thanks so much and please let me know if you have any questions!
Best,
Stephanie
Stephanie -Much as this show sounds intriguing, on principle I will not recommend her show to my readers (and I receive 8000 visits/day) because of her bias towards Obama, which has led this country into an extremely disastrous and dangerous position.
Of course Oprah's not feeling the financial pinch or the insecurity the rest of us feel - she has plenty of money, houses and at least one private jet.
But she is partly to blame for electing an unqualified, inexperienced and narcissistic man into a position of power that has jeopardized the future of all American families not rich enough to rise above itas she can.
By contrast, Sheila Johnson, another wealthy African-American business woman - formerly of BET - studied the issues carefully and personally interviewed both candidates for Governor of Virginia. Then, rather than voting for a race or a personality or a party, she voted for the person who was committed to specific policies which would further the growth of Virginia's small businesses. Her goal was not to elect a crony but to elect a person who could help the common man.
I also thought the interview with Sarah Palin was cold and unfriendly. It was obvious Oprah was going through the motions, signaling her devotees to continue dehumanizing Sarah. Consider: had she been all warm and gushy as she is with the Obamas, Oprah's followers would have become more open-minded. But she obviously wasn't interested in making that happen.
I have lost all respect for Oprah in the past couple years. It would take some real changes to have me on board promoting anything she has to offer.
You asked for questions. Perhaps that means you will read this and give it some thought. I'm giving you some honest feedback in the hopes that there might be someone listening.
Will also publish at my blog.

Hi Barbara,Thank you for your frank and honest response. Since I do not work directly for Oprah, I cannot comment in return but I will pass on your note to the person I work with at Harpo. We do want feedback and that does include both the positive and negative and I appreciate your thoughtful response below.
Thanks,
Stephanie

Think they're really interested in feedback?
I'm no longer with the Nielsen family (that's the company that figures out the ratings for all the shows). They used to have wires hooked up to all our televisions in the house. They recorded what we watched and when and then fed the information back to their company. Our house represented 30,000 households.
We purposely did not tune in to Oprah because of the damage she has done to the country through Barack Obama. I didn't want to help her one bit with her ratings.
If she wants feedback, I'll give it to her. I'll explain it fully to her.

one of the reasons I keep coming back and reading your blog, Barbara, is because you have such common sense that most people don't. It is almost as if people refuse to think through their actions and change course. Not you. :)
I too, stopped watching Oprah a long time ago. It was a couple of months after having my first child (7 years ago) and I saw one of her episodes where all these mothers were speaking in such evil tone of motherhood. All of sudden, motherhood had become this horrible condition that was frustrating all their plans. I just could not condone it being a Christian and all with that sort of reasoning and thinking. I just figured that Oprah was TOO secular for me.
I will stick to my principles and values and listen to what will encourage and build me up and not this secular junk.
anyway, way to go!! :)

I was an avid Oprah fan and watcher for many years. I actually really liked her and 90% of the shows she did. Once she started campaigning for Obama, I stopped watching then and there and dont have the heart to watch her again. She seemed to just "fall in love" with Obama and really had no interest in what other campaigners had to say so thats what turned me off! She had ill regard for what was going to be good for this country verses her new found friendship with Obama and Michelle.

Barbara, you always articulate things so well. Here is another example.

Way to go Barbara!
"Inspirational"... right .... simply more of her secular gobbledegook.
"Oprah" rates down up there with " The View" in my book. Glad I don't have the time to waste!

The Church of Oprah is the epitome of a Secularist cult. Read the books she recommends, live your life the way all her guest "experts" tell you to, view the world through her rosy, utopian Leftist lens, and vote for the "hope and change" she promotes!
I tell you, it's downright scary the level of emotional and intellectual dependency her ilk creates.
How are her viewers going to think for themselves after decades of tuning in to Oprah for their daily dose of "inspiration"? Who will they turn to next as their "life coach"?
Just in case you still think Oprah is just an innocent celebrity entertainer, the controversial "I Pledge Allegiance to Obama" video - with all the celebrity propagandists - was created and distributed by Harpo, her production company. That oughta tell people where her head is at.

Thank you, anyone that cares anything about this country should not support Oprah.
