Purcellville: best Chinese food - Hot Wok

hot wok.JPG If you live in western Loudoun and love Chinese food, you should know that the best place in Purcellville is Hot Wok - located on Main Street in the shopping strip which also houses Blockbuster, Wings (best onion rings in the world!), Twice Upon a Child (consignment shop) and Market Street Coffee (owned by a friend of mine and another big thumbs up!).

Hot Wok is a humble little place offering take out and a few tables to sit down. We got takeout yesterday - our traditional Christmas dinner (long story) - but I have stopped by there with Maddy a couple times as it is one of her favorites.

Their food is the best and the owners are very generous. And while the decor may not be up to the more upscale-in-appearance Chinese restaurant in Purcellville, the ambiance is decidedly better. Instead of unfriendly waiters staring at you while you eat as though they can't wait to hustle you out and get another tab started - at Hot Wok the owner serves you and then retreats behind the counter to read her Bible.

Next time you want take-out or a quick bite to eat in town, give them a try.

Barbara,

As a relatively recent arrival to Purcellville (and to St. Francis de Sales), I am just discovering your blog. So, I know this comes a bit late, but I totally agree with you. Hot Wok is some of the best Chinese I have ever had. We discovered it when we were painting before we moved in, and regularly order carryout from them. I have never been disappointed! The lunch specials are an awesome way to try them without spending a lot.

Thanks!
