Haiti miracle rescues - stories you want to share with your children
Against all odds, we are still seeing stories of survivors in Haiti - and news reporters speaking in hushed tones, acknowledging faith and miracles.
I especially encourage parents to share these stories with your children (See Helping kids make sense of Haiti). They will hear many languages - explain how people have come from all over the world and are working together to help. Explain the hydration and oxygen assistance - your child may experience medical intervention someday and they will understand that people are helping them.
Maybe gather your family around the computer and share these videos, thanking God for each one and praying for more miracles:
CBS: Baby survived 5 days in rubble (love hearing her cry grow stronger as she is hydrated)
MSNBC: Amazing rescue of Jeanette after six days buried in rubble - emerges singing praises to God, united with her husband (As Simon told us, these Haitian people are amazing! We could learn a lot from them...)
18 month old girl pulled from rubble after 68 hours:
Toddler rescued with arms outstretched (note tears of rugged rescue worker at :38)
Nurse buried alive for five days, rescued/ also orphanage survives quake (shocking fact: there were already over 200,000 orphans in Haiti before the disaster)
Haitians chant USA! USA! as Los Angeles Fire Department rescues survivors
Please add links as you find them, too.

Barbara, I am going through these with the kids and just crying...One question: So what's the deal with the orphans? Do you forsee a possiblity for some very quick adoptions here in the the U.S.? Wouldn't it be great if they could cut out a bit of the red tape and just give them some families? Sorry if this question is a no-brainer... I rarely watch TV these days...that is why I appreciate your blog, and these videos.
