Big Apple Circus at Dulles - discount tickets!
So excited! The The Big Apple Circus is returning to Dulles Town Center March 6-27!
We've been going every year since 2002. The Big Apple Circus is a traveling circus from New York that comes and sets up shop here for a couple weeks. If you live on the east coast, check their tour schedule to see if they come to your town.
This is a perfect size circus for little children - every seat is within 50 feet. No stimulation overload as the acts are based more on feats of human skill and humor than on three rings and wild animals. They usually have cute dogs and cats and birds and sometimes horses, but nothing big and dangerous. Lots of high wire and trapeze and juggling/balancing/tumbling/trampoline type stuff. Blended in with a new intelligent theme each year and live music - very entertaining for adults also.
It's really nice to have traditions - things your family does each year that the kids can look forward to. Not to mention us parents!
This year's newest thrill is that in addition to the beloved Grandma the Clown, Bello is back - a clown who we once saw at the big Ringling Brothers/Barnum&Bailey circus. Bello is a really cool clown - we looked up Bello's website and found out he is a 7th generation performer!Still, my kids are very loyal to Grandma:
Love ya, Grandma! Notice the Grandma doll Daniel is clutching - which we dig up and take every year.
The Big Apple Circus usually comes in October, but this year they're a little late. Maybe just the pickup we need after weeks and weeks of cold and snow.
