DC Snow Apocalypse - gearing up for second blast

IMG_6026.JPG

Among the back roads of Northern Virginia, we've just sorta dug our way out of Snow Apocalypse - Tripp and the Big Boyz made it to Costco last night and they took off early this morning to put Matt on a bus for New York, where he will be auditioning for a tour of Wizard of Oz.

The skies are looming heavy today and we are expecting another 10-14 inches - which is a huge snowfall for DC under normal circumstances, but stacked on nearly 3 feet from last weekend. . . wow. As if Global Warming hadn't been discredited enough with revelations of faulty data, God puts an exclamation point on it.

I am using this opportunity to strip beds and wash it all - even pillows. Clearing my desk. Watching old movies with Maddy and doing some teaching upstairs - we still have a fully functioning classroom from our homeschooling days.

So far no power outages, plenty of firewood and water (if our electricity goes out, we lose water because we're on a well and the pump is electric.

We were without Internet for a few hours on Sunday, but Matt scaled the roof and cleaned off the satellite dish.

The house is beyond my control with boots and snow clothes everywhere. An exercise in my letting go.

Hope you all are cozy and warm. It's nice to be back to blogging full steam ahead.

Love,
