Snowed in and how: 2 miles to a cleared road

We are snowed in worse than we ever imagined. We are two miles from a cleared road. VDOT sent a plow today, but the plow couldn't do the job because the wind had created 8-10 foot drifts on Foggy Bottom Road.

Here is a map:

We live on a dirt road off Foggy Bottom. Foggy Bottom is paved from Snickersville Turnpike to slightly past Walsh Farm Lane, but as of today only Snickersille Turnpike has been plowed.

We found out because Zach got geared up and went walking out on top of the snow. He got to Great Country Farms, which is where the first bend in the road is. The owners there were taking matters into their own hands and trying to clear the road themselves. Everyone is worried that if VDOT doesn't make it out here tomorrow with big enough equipment, we will not get out for a long time as snow is expected Monday.

I know it's weird because I have friends in Leesburg who are probably getting back to normal. I've forgotten what normal is. But thank God we have our electricity and Internet......

Love,

Quaint names for roads down there. :-)
Wish I could help.
Guess the mail's not getting through?

You need the "rotary" plow, Barbara. That's the huge and terrifying type with big gnashing teeth. ... Common fare in Wyoming. Love you! Help will come soon in some form.

Praise God you have electricity.
