Turbo Tax - efile - works for me!

Since losing our house and downsizing - maybe not by choice but today a cause to rejoice! - our lives have gotten so much simpler.

I have not done our taxes since Tripp and I were first married - 27 years ago. Owning businesses, buying and selling houses - it was all just too much.

This year our lives are so uncomplicated that I was able to save the money on tax preparation with Turbo Tax. I know that it was worth buying because while our life may be uncomplicated, the tax codes are not - and I loved the way Turbo Tax walked me through everything, saving me all the research time I would have spent figuring out what to deduct.

Turbo Tax prompts you, makes the process quick and painless, then files your reutrn electronically. It is amazing!

I'm guessing it will do just about everything a Tax Preparer would do - and for a lot less, making it worth the cost. If you're thinking about trying it yourself, please use my Amazon link.

Here's the one I used:

But you can check out the whole line-up at Amazon's Tax Central

TurboTax is great! I am self employed, but I can still do my taxes (and my hubby's) by myself and save a bundle using this software. I usually find it at the best price at Wal-Mart.

Is there are fee involved with e-filing using your version? We always have to pay an extra fee - I think it's about $15 - to e-file our federal taxes, and another filing fee for state taxes.

You can also download the Turbo Tax software online, use it, and if you are poor enough (which is revealed in the return itself) they don't charge you for using it. Just a FYI.

Be aware that filing with TurboTax is FREE for those with adjusted gross income under $31,000.
