2010: Stockdale for Congress

Time for a true grassroots uprising to take back our country. MommyLife will highlight conservative candidates as I hear about them. When Jennifer Stockdale contacted me, I thought you would identify with her family and her husband's candidacy.

The Founding Fathers never envisioned a ruling class composed of career politicians (mostly trained as lawyers). They envisioned true public servants who set aside their own lives and occupations for a time when called to serve their country.

Our current ruling class clearly has their own interests at heart. They live inside a protective bubble, shielded from the damage they've done to the middle class through their never-ending stream of controlling legislation. As a body, Congress is too corrupt to police the worst of its corrupt members. Extortion and bribery are the name of the game.

It is our responsibility to do all we can to rid ourselves of these parasites and elect a new body that will truly represent hope and change. This means we need to inform ourselves about conservative candidates across the nation and support their efforts by spreading the word to those we know within their constituencies, carrying their stories on our blogs, and supporting them financially if we have the means.

But let's hear from Jennifer (I grabbed the masthead from her husband's campaign site):

stockdale for congress.pngThis may be a long shot, but I just stumbled upon your website and all I can say is: Oh, baby, what a match!

My husband, Dave Stockdale, is running for US Congress in one of America's most liberal districts. We are a pro-life, pro-parental rights, conservative family with 5 great kids, 2 of whom have Down Syndrome.

Recently, one of our opponents said my husband has no business taking 2 "retarded" children to Washington, D.C.

Now I'm lacing up my sneakers!

We are running a grass roots campaign. The battle to take America back in 2010 means that men and women across the country must reach out to help truly conservative candidates get elected.

We need your help!

Please visit our website: www.stockdaleforcongress.com.

jennifer stockdale.jpgCheck out my blog, too, written from the perspective of a wife and mother along the campaign trail. (It's on a tab at the top of the page marked "Jennifer's Blog.)

Sign up for e-mail updates. We accept donations, too!

Here's my cell phone, just in case you're wondering whether we're the real deal: 805-264-0636.

God bless you, and God bless America!

Jennifer Stockdale

Please feel free to send me information on other conservative candidates. I am starting a new category: 2010 elections.

Love,

Thank you Barbara for your help in alerting us about conservative candidates. Gathering this type of information and sending it to my family and friends with a challenge to send a small monetary donation to those they like is something I had planned to do (one of those small action items that we "little people" can do). But I have to say that I don't think I will be passing Mr. Stockdale on a this point - I did not see a public pro-life stance on his website. I did not see the sanctity of life addressed at all under the "Issues" section. Please let me know if I overlooked it. I am passionate about supporting, and sharing information about, conservative candidates, but the pro-life stance must have priority.

For PA governor. Just learned about his candidacy at a homeschooling convention. Principled Constutionalist conservative. http://www.samrohrer.org/

On a vaguely related note... After hearing the author speak, I am beginning to read a wonderful book called Seeds of a Nation, which ties together the historical and spiritual seeds of our nation which need to be rediscovered. I'm wondering if you would like it, too. I'll forward a description of it which I just happen to have written to someone the other day.

I agree and will write him immediately

I emailed Dave Stockdale and he replied:

Barbara: Thanks for your support. I am 100 per cent pro-life. Our 12 year old is our natural child; our 5 year old is adopted, so pro-life is more than a concept--it's a way of life. Our flickr photos include pictures from the National Right to Life march, and we linked to the "virtual march" at the time. I will post my pro-life position under the issues column within the next week to allay any lingering concerns your readers might have. Feel free to use any part of this post you like. Here's my cell phone if you have any questions. 805-264-3106. Best wishes, Dave.

Here's one for you:

Carl Paladino for NY Governor

http://www.carlpaladino.com/ - this is just a blog, he only recently announced he was running for governor when nods were being made toward not-so-conservative candidates. He has been a big name in western NY tea parties, in fighting the lack of representation for upstate NY in our capitol.

Here are some other blog posts by NY political blogs that can give you an idea of what he's up to:

This has a video where he states he is pro-life, pro-gun rights, and against gay marriage:

Thank you for doing this.

Would it be possible for you to include a note about what state the candidates are running in? It took me a few moments to figure out when Mr Stockdale was from.

thank you for the follow-up!

Barbara,
Thank you. This is something truly valuable that you will provide to give us moms in the trenches, busy at home, something we can do in our "spare minutes". By providing us names, we can have a starting point to research and promote candidates, which is just SO important right now. I know there are many, many of us who want to be involved but don't really know how or where to start or where to find the time.
Thank you, thank you for giving us a starting place. And your audience is so large that I know you will be truly feeding that grassroots movement in a big way.
