Exempted from Obamacare: Senior staff who wrote the bill
As Nancy Pelosi imperiously told us: "We have to pass the bill so that you can find out what is in it, away from the fog of the controversy."And as Our Campaigner in Chief blasts once more into hyperCrusade mode to tour the country (thanks, y'all for footing the bill) to sell us on the glories of Government Health Care - kind of like a used car salesman showing up on your doorstep the next day to persuade you that the lemon he sent home with you is really a stud car -

Exempted From Obamacare: Senior Staff Who Wrote the Bill

For as long as the political fight took over the past year, the abbreviated review process on the health care legislation currently pending on President Obama's desk is unquestionably going to result in some surprises -- as happens with any piece of mashed-up legislation -- both for the congressmen who voted for it and for the American people.
One such surprise is found on page 158 of the legislation, which appears to create a carveout for senior staff members in the leadership offices and on congressional committees, essentially exempting those senior Democrat staffers who wrote the bill from being forced to purchase health care plans in the same way as other Americans.

GUESS WHO'S ALSO EXEMPTED? My husband, a retired Lt. Col. in the Air Force, father of nine, just got off the phone with the poor woman who was sentenced to "man" the phones today. Seems that yesterday, Sec. of Defense Gates sent around a memo that Tricare would not be complying with the new law to keep kids on their parents' health insurance policies until they're 26. Having a 23-year old with a chronic condition who was cared for under Tricare until her birthday last month, this is a huge deal to us and something we were willing to take advantage of even though we're 100% against the Health Care Destruction Bill. Oh, thank you to all you military families who served our country, but covering YOUR kids would just cost the government more money. When we said "insurance" we meant "insurance the government isn't having to pay for." So we'll just exempt you. (But we will be collecting the bill for others FROM you, sorry.)
