Girl Scouts hyping sex: Healthy, Happy and Hot
In case you didn't know, it's not your mother's Girl Scouts any more. While the Boy Scouts of America has remained true to its traditional ideals, the Girl Scouts have gone full tilt into feminism/sexual revolution/GLBT politics. And doing their best to export it internationally:March 11, 2010
Girl Scouts Distribute Planned Parenthood Sex Guide at UN Meeting
(NEW YORK - C-FAM) The World Association of Girl Scouts and Girl Guides hosted a no-adults-welcome panel at the United Nations this week where Planned Parenthood was allowed to distribute a brochure entitled "Healthy, Happy and Hot." The event was part of the annual United Nations Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) which concludes this week. The brochure, aimed at young people living with HIV, contains explicit and graphic details on sex, as well as the promotion of casual sex in many forms. The brochure claims, "Many people think sex is just about vaginal or anal intercourse... But, there are lots of different ways to have sex and lots of different types of sex. There is no right or wrong way to have sex. Just have fun, explore and be yourself!" The brochure goes on to encourage young people to "Improve your sex life by getting to know your own body. Play with yourself! Masturbation is a great way to find out more about your body and what you find sexually stimulating. Mix things up by using different kinds of touch from very soft to hard. Talk about or act out your fantasies. Talk dirty to them."
The brochure also tells students that national laws requiring HIV-positive people to reveal their status to their partner(s) "violate the rights of people living with HIV" and calls for advocacy to "change laws that violate your rights." It explains, "There are many reasons that people do not share their HIV status. ... They may worry that people will find out something else they have kept secret, like they are using injecting drugs, having sex outside of a marriage or having sex with people of the same gender."
Read it all at C-Fam (Catholic Family and Human Rights Institute)

The thing that makes me the most angry (it's hard to choose!)is the bit about "telling your partner you have HIV violates your rights!"
Excuse me!? That person has every RIGHT to know that the person he/she's sleeping with has a deadly disease. In fact, that person's right to life far outweighs your precious little right to privacy.
That just makes me so furious. I guess I shouldn't be suprised that PP puts someone's privacy above someone else's life. That's par for the course.

I would not want to make a very strong commnet as I still have to know more about this matter which I have learned just today. However,It made me very uncomfortable that as many organization new organizations is actively promoting to put control on casual sex, this respected organization has come up with this campaign. It is but proper to inform and to educate, what is crucial if you are already crossing the line pf promoting such acts.

I'm sort of speechless.

It gets worse. Click my name to read my post on "condom cake recipe for Girl Scouts."

This is really disturbing. We are already in a pseudo-Girl Scout Catholic group called Little Flowers, but I was thinking about Girl Scouts as well. Where can I get more information about their descent into feminism/sexual revolution/GLBT politics?

As a parent of two Girl Scouts, this raised my eyebrows. The group that distributed this pamphlet is the World Association of Girl Scouts. It is incorrect to say that anything is being exported to the world, rather this was being imported to the U.S.. The Girl Scouts of America is a far more risk averse organization than its international counterpart, and I would be very surprised to hear of them endorsing anything that controversial. Rather than being outraged at the Girl Scouts, I am more upset with Planned Parenthood. The views expressed in this flyer are extreme and would seem to suggest that anything that interferes with a person's self gratification is wrong - as if sex should be just for self-fulfillment and does not have any obligations or responsibilities to one's partner or even one's own health. Ridiculous!

I wasn't able to post the link, but do a google search on ippf healthy happy hot and you'll find the actual brochure handed out.
This is outrageous and I urge everyone to email the Girl Scouts, World Association of Girl Scouts. I personally am boycotting. They have no right to allow this type of material to be distributed. The desensitizion of America and our children. Parents have the right to know about this and decide if their children should be privy to this type of info or not. Even though this is intended for girls afflicted with HIV, it can very easily get into the hands of non-infected girls. Even if my child did have HIV, I wouldn't want them reading this.

If you go to the Girl Scouts USA web site they talk about their close relationship with the World Assocation in their partners section. They are closely related.
Additionally, the Girl Scout promise has an asterisk next to the word God, which really indicates a progressive liberal mentality. This is part of a new way of thinking they started a couple of years ago to "empower" girls.

Telling girls to self-identify as "hot" is demeaning and irresponsible and given the risks to the girls, ought to be downright criminal. Girls suffer increased risk of cancer, depression, potential fertility-robbing and life-shortening STDs, etc., from premature sexual activity.
They are not about educating kids. They're about generating the revenues they get from sexually active kids. You can't sell pregnancy tests, STD tests, contraceptives, and abortions to chaste kids.

I am my daughters Girl Scout leader & have been for the last few years & I am FURIOUS !!! I know for a fact that GSUSA for certain screens anything & everything extensively before it ever gets near the girls. I have to fill out 3 forms & ask the council for permission 3months in advance just to take my troop on a trip to the local park! And u r going to tell me that they didn't know what was in those fliers, please! And lets just say they didn't read it, did they think "planned parenthood" was handing the girls a coloring sheet so they wouldn't be bored. Then closing it to the parents, obviously it's questionable if mom can't be in the room & last time I checked there was nothing in the pledge, promise, or motto about teaching my child how to explore her sexuality by showing her the correct way to masturbate. Pretty sure we would have found ourselves another group to join.

After 30+ years in Girl Scouts I disassociated myself with the organization last year and started the first American Heritage Girls troop in Wyoming. GSUSA aligned themselves with Planned Parenthood about seven years ago and things have been going from bad to worse. Anyone who would like documentation of what's been going on can email me and I will send you all you want..including that great Happy, Healthy and Hot brochure. The Planned Parenthood thing is just one of many. They are also deeply enmeshed with New Age Philosophy and practices.

A small quibble . . .quote: "And doing their best to export it internationally". The brochure indicates this is being imported into the US from a registered UK charity known as IPPF.
The very last page of the brochure indicates the brochure supports the full implementation of sexual rights an IPPF Declaration. IPPF=International Planned Parenthood Federation
Here in the USA, we have our elected President recruiting a homosexual activist, Kevin Jennings to the post of - believe it or not - "Safe Schools Czar". Jennings became a lightning rod of controversy last year because he was the co-founder and president for a decade of the Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network (GLSEN), which promoted homosexual clubs in high schools.
Moreover, Jennings has been scrutinized for how he handled a 1988 incident by advising a 15-year-old to use a condom in a sexual affair with an older adult man, rather than reporting the possible case of statutory rape to authorities.
Several recent revelations about Kevin Jennings and his programs Warning, not all material is safe for work or children. For instance "Jennings Personally Pushed Books That Encouraged Children to Meet Adults at Gay Bars For Sex" and "Safe Schools Czar Pushed Book Detailing Sex Between 1st Graders in 1994" and "Fisting kits for high school students".

THIS IS THE MOST DISTURBING THING I HAVE EVER HEARD OF!!!!! WITH ALL OF THE DESEASE GOING AROUND IN THIS WORLD YOU WOULD THINK OF SPEAKING ABOUT NOT HAVING SEX!!!! ALSO TO HAVE AN ORGANIZATION LIKE THE GIRL SCOUTS SUPPORTING THIS IS CRAZY!!!! WHAT HAPPENED TO HAVING SEX AFTER MARRIAGE, THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THAT. TO "EXPLORE" DIFFERENT WAYS TO HAVE SEX IS NOT RIGHT!!! IT'S NOT THE WAY LIFE SHOULD BE!! AND I TRULY BELIEVE THAT ALL THESE FREE GOING, FLAMBOUYANT PEOPLE IN THIS WORLD KNOW IT IS WRONG AND THEY ARE JUST DOING IT TO RECEIVE ATTENTION. BEING SEXUALLY ACTIVE WITH RANDOM PEOPLE WAS NOT MEANT TO BE!!! WHY DO YOU THING STD'S AND AIDS IS AROUND!! TRUST ME, ALOT OF PEOPLE HAVE MADE MISTAKES IN THEIR LIVES, SOME HAVE LEARNED AND SOME JUST KEEP ON DOING IT! TO ENFORCE BIRTH CONTROL TO YOUNG GIRLS AND NOT TELL THEIR PARENTS, ARE YOU KIDDING ME!! WHAT IS THE POINT OF HAVING PARENTS FOR GUIDANCE, YOU MIGHT AS WELL PUT THEM ON THE CORNER OF HOLLYWOOD AND VINE TO PROSTITUTE THEMSELVES!! SINCE WE HAVE FREEDOM OF SPEECH IN THIS COUNTRY DOES NOT GIVE YOU THE RIGHT TO BE SO RECKLESS WITH YOUNG MINDS THAT WILL BE RUNNING OUR COUNTRY SOME DAY. ALSO SINCE YOU ARE SO EASILY OFFENDED AND YOU FEEL THAT WE SHOULD TREAT YOU DIFFERENTLY BECAUSE IT'S NOT THE "AMERICAN WAY", YOU NEED TO CHECK YOURSELVES AT THE DOOR AND REMEMBER WHAT IS RIGHT. IT'S SO SAD HOW THIS GENERATION IS DRAGGED INTO THIS. PEOPLE ARE NOT BORN BEING GAY AND IT IS NOT RIGHT, WHY DO YOU THINK WOMEN HAVE BABIES BY MEN!! DO YOU EVEN KNOW WHAT IT MEANS FOR A MAN AND A WOMAN TO BE TOGETHER, IT MEANS: MARRIAGE, CHILDREN...... THAT IS THE WAY IT WAS MEANT TO BE, EVEN IF YOU BELEIVE IN GOD OR NOT, IT MAKES SENSE!!! I WILL PRAY FOR YOU THAT GOD WILL CHANGE YOUR HEARTS ABOUT THIS AND REVEALE TO YOU THAT IT'S O.K. TO BE RESPECTFUL OF YOURSELF AND YOU BODY! AND I MEANT EVERY WORD I SAID "BECAUSE I CAN"

The Girl Scouts have issued a statement regarding this. I am reluctant to just believe anything I have heard via the media these days on either side of a story. My daughter is in a GS Troop and enjoys it. I am active with the Boy Scouts of America. I believe in the BSA program-duty to God, Country then Self. I have seen it work. There is a program with in BSA called Venturing. The unit can be coed, all female or all male. It is designed for youth 9th grade to early college (20yrs). Call your local BSA office to get more information if you want a truely well rounded program.
