Hattie update

Hattie's surgery was successful in that the surgeon was able to remove two tumors from her spine and one from her ribcage near her lungs.

However, Josh said the surgeon was very concerned because of the rapid growth of the tumors since they were first spotted - they were larger than expected.

He will be doing a consult with the other doctors to see what course to take next. Hattie had been scheduled to begin an experimental drug. Now they may want to do cyberknife treatments (which she has had before).

She is resting as comfortably as can be expected at Georgetown University Hospital (I just got an email from her).

Please continue to pray that this cancer - which she and Josh have been struggling with for almost three years - will be healed and they can begin looking forward to a brighter future.

YOu can leave comments for Hattie and Josh here.

Love,

Hattie and Josh, you've been through so much. I imagine you both are now very wise, old sages in the faith, as you've had to lean so heavily on the Lord's arm. May He give you fresh strength and fresh manna as you go into each new day.

"[D]o not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself." (Matt. 6:34a).

You are in my prayers.

I'm so sorry she is continuing to have trouble with this. So many people are going through hard times right now. God be with them.
