Look for Maddy at Leesburg's First Friday March 5
Maddy was going to sing last First Friday, but the monthly event was snowed out. If you've never been to a Leesburg First Friday, you might want to check it out - look at all these events within a few square blocks in downtown Leesburg:

Over 35 Specialty Shops, Art Galleries, Antique Shops and Restaurants are open until 9pm or later, many offering free refreshments and/or special sales. Events for Friday, March 5, 2010• 6:30-8:30 Celtic Music. Sona Bank
is proud to present Northern Virginia's newest and hottest Celtic music
group, "Celtic Marc," performing traditional Irish, Scottish and Welsh
music with singers, fiddles, Uillian pipes, mandolin, guitar and
bodhran (an Irish drum). It's Celtic music with a kick! Refreshments
served. • 6:30-8:30 Maddy Curtis. Crème-de-la-Crème
is featuring vocalist Maddy Curtis, of Bluemont, who is well-known
locally for her recent performances on American Idol, a nationally
televised talent show. • 6:30-9:00 Irish Dancers & Celtic Harp Music. Very Virginia/The Pink Shop
is featuring harpist/vocalist, Ellen James performing Irish and
Renaissance songs, along with folk and some original music on her
Celtic harp. Also Irish Step Dancers from the "Celtic Rhythm School"
will perform a show at 7:00pm. Virginia gourmet foods served. • 6:00-9:00 Wine Tasting. Otter Creek is hosting a wine tasting event with select wines locally made by North Gate Vineyards of Purcellville. • 6:00-9:00 Photo Exhibit. Photoworks
is featuring local photographer Dave Levinson and his exhibit entitled
"Loudoun Landscapes: Preserving the Beauty of Loudoun County."
Refreshments served. • 6:30-8:30 Violin Soloist. Caulkins Jewelers
presents violinist, Michael Francis Haley, performing classic solo
arrangements of classical music, as well as bluegrass, folk and his own
original violin music. • 7:00-9:00 Civil War Lecture. The Loudoun Museum
is hosting a presentation by T. Elizabeth Renich, author of The
Shadowcreek Chronicles, a series of four historically-based novels, set
against the backdrop of the American Civil War. Tickets: $5. Seating is
limited, so please register in advance by calling 703-777-7427. • 6:00-9:00 Wine Tasting. The Leesburg Vintner is hosting a wine tasting event from their collection of wines from around the world. • 6:00-9:00 Landscape Paintings. Julia's Gifts is showcasing the artwork of watercolorist, Leonida Ivanetich and her lovely local landscapes. Chocolate desserts served. • 6:00-9:00 Spring into Action. The Fleur de Lune Shopis
hosting a charity event to help raise funds and awareness for the
recent earthquake survivors of Chile. Please stop by to enter the
drawing and to see their exhibit of floral displays. • 6:00-9:00 Photography Show. Resourceful Woman
is hosting a photography show of photos by one of their regular
volunteers, Jan Miller. As a professional photographer, Jan's company,
"Make a Difference Photography" combined her passion for photography
and community service by making a donation to a charitable cause every
time a photo is sold. Refreshments served. • 6:00-9:00 Antique Print Show. The PDMP Gallery is hosting an exhibit of their authentic original antique prints. Refreshments also served. • 6:00-8:00 Yoga Happy Hour. Flow Yoga
is offering a FREE fun-filled yoga practice from 6-7, followed by happy
hour refreshments until 8pm. Open to all experience levels. • 6:00-9:00 Wine Tasting. The Loudoun County Visitors Center is hosting a wine tasting event with Fabbioli Cellars, along with other refreshments served. • 6:00-9:00 Lots of Local Artists. The Gallery is
featuring several local artists, one of which is Frank Ruggles, a
photographer with the National Park Service. Also local artist, Jack
Lancto, will be busy painting at his easel with his watercolors.
Refreshments served. • 6:00-9:00 Art Open House. Medlin Art Gallery
is exhibiting a selection of original artwork from nationally known
artists such as: Mort Kunstler, P. Buckley Moss, Paul Landry, G. Harvey
and Patricia Bason, etc. Refreshments served. • 6:00-9:00 Jewelry as Art. The Cottage
is hosting a private, "Stella and Dot Trunk Show." Stop by to treat
yourself to an irresistible line of jewelry, exclusively available
through our jewelry stylist. Light refreshments will be served. • 7:00-9:00 Home-Based Businesses. The 1757 Real Estate Company
is showcasing home-based businesses with an array of locally owned
businesses on display, such as Tastefully Simple, Southern Living and
Healthy Green School to name a few. • 8:30-10:30 Open Drum Circle. Esoterica
is featuring an "Open Drum Circle" - only $5 to join in. All percussion
instruments welcome. Extra drums available on a first-come first-served
basis. Also, tarot card readers, palm readers and mediums available. • 8:00-10:00 Live Comedy Show. Tally Ho Theater
presents the "Last Ham Standing," a local improv group of comedic
actors, who take suggestions from the audience, to create wacky scenes
and funny games. Don't miss this hilarious show, full of laughs for the
entire family. Tickets: $10. • 7:00-10:00 Guitarist, Dave Pepper. Doener Bistro
is hosting British guitarist, Dave Pepper performing a high-energy,
acoustic sing-along of "beer drinking shanty songs." Dave is lead
vocalist for the Dave Pepper Band, a rock/punk group that tours
