Obamacare: call today - last chance!
Today is the last day we have to make our voices heard on the government takeover of 18% of our economy. Keep in mind, they've taken over 30% since Obama came into office.Iff this passes, it will also be the biggest boost for abortion -already 1.5 million/year - since Roe v. Wade. Not only will taxpayers fund abortions, but health care workers will not be protected by conscience from having to perform them.
In case you haven't had time to keep up, the House of Representatives is planning to pass the Senate bill without a vote through an Alice-in-Wonderland maneuver they've called "deeming" the bill to be passed. This will allow them to go back to their home districts over spring break to claim that they didn't vote for the bill.
In the meantime - through threats and bribery - Obama and Company have whittled away the margin of those Democrats opposed to the bill, giving one representative's brother a coveted judgeship, threatening Bart Stupak with ethics charges and other Chicago Godfatherish thuggery.
Remember when Michelle Obama said in 2008 that it was the first time she was proud of her country? I feel about the opposite right now - that our country and the Constitution have been trashed. Not to mention the will of the American people.
Please do what you can today. If you can go in person to your representative's Capitol Hill or district office, please drop everything and go. Call. Urge your friends and family to call.

Last Chance to tell Congress to Stop Abortion-Funding Health
Care Dear Barbara, The Capitol Switchboard is now being pummeled with thousands of calls from across the nation byAmericans who will not stand for a government takeover of health care, but the fight isn't over yet. We need your help in letting Congress know that Americans do not want the President's abortion-funding health care overhaul bill. Please visit your local Congressional district office or call them
and politely ask your Representative to oppose the Rule
governing debate on the House Reconciliation health bill that would deem
the Senate health care bill, the "Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act" (H.R. 3950), as passed. Congressional Members should not think that because they are only
voting on the "Rule" instead of the Senate bill itself that they are
untainted. The fact is that a "Yes" vote on the Rule equals a "Yes" vote
for abortion funding. Even if your Representative has expressed
commitment to a vote, your call is still important, as Members are under extreme pressure by the President and his allies to push through this bill. Look Up Your Representative's Phone Number & Ask Him
or Her to Vote "NO" on the Rule "Deeming" the Sincerely, |

Thank you so much for posting this and for reminding your readers how important it is to act. Could you provide some links or pointers for those of us whose reps are solidly opposed to the bill already, and who still want to make our voices heard? I know there are lists out there of the undecideds, but I feel very helpless not living close to DC and not being able to go rally in person. The phone lines are all busy and the email system is programmed to reject emails from out of the district.
HillBuzz, which you linked to so long ago, has been running a lot of posts on action items, but we really need a comprehensive strategy so that we can all be calling, all day, and ensuring that the message is getting through. Now is the time for all good men...etc. etc.
