Parenting wisdom - from the Bible

From The Mommy Manual:

Finding Help Fast

These books make it easy to come up with just the perfect Scripture for any occasion:

proverbs for parenting.jpgProverbs for Parenting: A Topical Guide for Child Raising from the Book of Proverbs/King James Version

Look up any sin or any virtue and find a multitude of proverbs to share with your child. This will reinforce that Bible verses are not just for memorization, but for appying when the time comes. As in Psalm 119:11 "Thy word I have hid in my heart that I might not sin against Thee."

The Father's Topical Bible

Look up any problem with your child (e.g., When Your Child Becomes Rebellious) or in your personal life (e.g., When Your Efforts Seem Unappreciated by Others). In these pages, you will find wisdom from every book of the Bible to challenge you or soothe your soul.

Best news: Used, leather-bound copies at Amazon for as little as 3.96. A great gift for your husband for Christmas.

The Mommy Manual is currently out of print, but there are copies at Amazon and I have around 40 new copies if you would like to order one.

Barbara, I would like to hear what others think of a particular parenting resource that is similar to the ones you've posted. Titled "For Instruction in Righteousness: A Topical Reference Guide for Biblical Child-Training" by Pam Forster, it is published by Doorposts.

Here is a link to the information on it at Doorposts' web site: http://www.doorposts.com/details.aspx?id=15

The reason that I ask is that the Forster's have another parenting resource that reminds me a little bit of the Pearl's parenting philosophy.

I own this book and I would like to know if I have a good tool on my shelf or if something has made it past my evaluation that could be damaging/harmful since the other resource I mention was cautionary for me.

Thanks!

I would really like to read your books, but I'm not sure which one to read first. How are The Mommy Manual and The Mommy Survival Guide different?
