Fr. Jay Scott Newman: The tyranny of abortion

I want to urge you to listen to this definitive homily from Father Jay Scott Newman of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Upstate South Carolina.

"This is a dark hour in the history of our republic and we have been led to this hour - very largely - by those who call themselves Catholics."

A clear reprimand of Catholics who voted for the most pro-abortion politician in our country's history. Also directives for how Catholics should respond to the tyranny of abortion - and how to deal with Catholics and Catholic institutions who are not true to their faith.

Worth listening to - your teens too: http://www.stmarysgvl.org/discipleship/audio-homilies?song=780&homilyTitle=Fifth%20Sunday%20of%20Lent

Or you can read the transcript at Father Newman's blog: Ecclesia Semper Reformanda

Father Newman made news after Obama's election:

November 13, 2008

The Rev. Jay Scott Newman said Thursday church law doesn't allow him to refuse parishioners the sacrament at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Greenville.

But he said his congregants shouldn't take Communion until they do penance for supporting "the most radical pro-abortion politician ever to serve in the United States Senate or to run for president." Newman's decision was first reported by The Greenville News.
