Obamas take 'middle class' holiday in North Carolina

Barack and Michelle Obama flew off for a brief holiday in North Carolina on Friday in what was seen as an attempt to take a "middle class" vacation more in keeping with those of ordinary Americans.
The Obamas spent their holidays last year in Hawaii and Martha's
Vineyard, the Massachusetts island beloved of millionaire businessmen
and celebrities.However, following the US president's fresh attack on Wall Street
greed this week, it was apparently deemed wiser for Mr Obama not to be
pictured relaxing alongside the same bankers he has been lambasting.Read more at the UK Telegraph.
These two are even more phony than the Clintons. Remember that little impromptu vacation Bill and Hillary took in the midst of the Monica Lewinsky scandal - that showed them dancing on a deserted beach (well, not quite deserted, since someone took a picture. . . .)

Barbara, I just saw a clip of this on HNN, and Obama was sitting at a restaurant next to car magnate(racing, rental fleets, etc) Roger Penske, not exactly an average American. SO SICKENING!!

I live in NC and with our salary, our family is considered middle class and there is no way we could afford a vacation to where they went. The Grove Park Inn where they're staying is amazing and several hundred dollars a night. What middle class couple can afford babysitting for the weekend, the plane ride to get away, the hotel and the food? I don't at all appreciate the "nod" to the middle class. From where we sit financially, it feels much more like I'm being given the finger. Forget about the fact that we're in the middle of a war and the Commander in Chief is golfing and vacationing while his soldiers can't take a vacation to see their baby be born, let alone attempting to get away with their wife for a bit.

P.S. It's likely they're staying in The Cottage for almost a thousand a night. Middle class. Ha. And tell me Mrs. Obama isn't getting spa treatments and he isn't playing golf. Please.
