Do you kinda get the feeling that he wanted the power and the glory, the thrill of being on the campaign trail (like he has continued to be even though he should be in the White House being the President rather than the Campaigner-in-Chief), the luxury and outrageous partying.
He seems to resent having to take care of anything that he is being paid to do.
