Washington Post propaganda - Al Sharpton rally
Does anyone read the Washington Post anymore? They're working overtime to belittle today's rally - even set up a photo album to contrast their pet rallies with the terrible Tea Parties. Here's the header:
Glenn Beck rally in context: Events on the Mall The Lincoln Memorial -- and the rest of the Mall -- is a popular site for protests and rallies. Here are some noteworthy ones that show how hard it is to measure the size of a protesting crowd. With Glenn Beck's Saturday rally, it's best to be wary of estimates.
Believe me, they wouldn't be wary of estimates if they were happy with them. I'm sure the size of the crowd and the lack of anything really to criticize is killing them. Al Sharpton's bitter band of a few hundred showed up for a counter protest, but really - the right place for him would have been at the Restoring Honor rally, which was all about integrity and virtue and - what's that line? - the content of character vs. the color of skin.
Sharpton - since he makes his living convincing everyone that they are oppressed - seems to be fighting ghosts these days. There was nothing real he could have gotten a handle on from Glenn Beck or the many, many "people of color" - including Alveda King, niece of Martin Luther King and proud pro-life conservative. Just like "Uncle Martin" as she referred to him.
Let's not forget that Martin Luther King was a Republican and a committed pro-life Christian. I think he would have felt more at home with the 244 faith leaders assembled on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial to talk about Jesus and sing Amazing Grace than with Al Sharpton's band of perpetually angry counter-protesters:
You can see pictures and read about it at Black&Right.
You'd think Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson would be happy after all the money they've made with their constant oppression schtick, but noooooo . . . . .Just look at these faces:
Oh, and this made me laugh:

Outstanding !!! I heard Martin speak when I was in college at TCU in 1966, he was amazing and not at all what the current administration is trying to paint.
Thanks for your efforts.

It was a little sad that Rev Sharpton couldn't find the real meaning behind MLK's "I Have A Dream" speech. If he did, in fact, understand the true meaning, I believe he would have led his march straight to the "Restoring Honor Rally" and linked arms with Beck and everyone else. That would have shown the true definition of MLK's speech. How unfortunate for Rev Sharpton that he could not open his heart and honor MLK properly.
