Christine O'Donnell wins! GOP Establishment cringes

ChristineODonnell.jpgLast night, once again, a conservative woman rocked the political landscape. Let me tell you why things will never be the same.

Christine O'Donnell has been the latest in a growing number of conservative women intent on making their contribution to restoring our country. And like all the others - including Sarah Palin, Michele Bachman, Jan Brewer - she has been the subject of vicious personal attacks. But what made it worse in this case was that the Republican Establishment started in on her. How ugly it has been to see the Good Old Boys try to take her down because - as they contended - she could not win against the Democrat.

It is unheard of for the Republican Party Machine to attack a GOP candidate during the primary - their job is to come in to support the winner. And yet the New Jersey machine fought vigorously against O'Donnell, claiming that she could not win against the Democratic candidate in November but that Mike Castle - a pro-abortion, pro-gun control 8-term RINO who votes pretty consistently with the Obama crowd.

This is what has been wrong with the GOP - they have not been united on principles. And speaking of principles: last night the GOP Establishment threatened not to fund O'Connell's campaign and Karl Rove savaged our victorious candidate on national TV in a way I've never heard him speak about Democrats.

I don't know about Rove, but today the Republican Establishment is taking a different tack - promising campaign funds (of course, the grassroots American conservative movement has sent over 500,000, to her website today) and making nice with the Tea Party.

This is because they have finally recognized that the Tea Party is the voice of the people and that the people are mobilizing and showing their strength at the ballot box. And part of our growing responsibility is to be aware of conservative candidates in states other than our own - and to support them in any way we can. We need an overthrow in Washington of not only Democrats but Republicans who have betrayed our trust. We will no longer vote for the lesser of two evils - we will work harder to find and support everyday American candidates who are humble and willing to serve because they love their country and not for their own self-gain.

And what's Mike Castle up to today? He's behaving like the troll under the bridge, refusing to support a fellow Republican. Still trash talking the woman who won. Blaming radio talk show hosts for his defeat. Which goes to show you what he's really all about :)

FRC Action Congratulates Christine O'Donnell; Says GOP Establishment Is the Problem
September 15, 2010

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Family Research Council Action President Tony Perkins released the following statement regarding Christine O'Donnell's victory over liberal Republican Rep. Mike Castle in the Delaware Senate primary:

"The Republican establishment is in shock today after FRC Action PAC-endorsed candidate Christine O'Donnell defeated liberal Republican Rep. Mike Castle (R-Del.) in the Delaware Senate primary. Immediately she was denounced, not congratulated, by Rep. Castle, as well as Karl Rove, who seems to have a personal vendetta against the candidate.

"The Republican establishment has lectured us about being loyal to 'the cause' (by which they mean their questionable leadership). Yet Arlen Specter, Dede Scozzafava, Charlie Crist, Jim Jeffords, Mike Castle, Lincoln Chafee, etc., have demonstrated that establishment-backed candidates have shown disloyalty to the Republican Party that has spent so much time and money on them, despite their opposition to the stated principles of the Party's own platform.

"This is not new for the Republican Party. The party leadership has done this for many years, something I've witnessed first hand. The difference is that this time, conservative voters have had enough.

"According to this same establishment, social conservatives are the problem. In reality, the problem is self-described 'moderate' Republicans who don't stand for anything - so we shouldn't be surprised when they don't stand by anything.

"Conservative icon William F. Buckley had a rule that he always supported the most conservative candidate who was electable. In the Delaware race, there was only one conservative in the primary, and she won.

"The irony is that it is not FRC Action PAC's job to only elect Republican candidates, but continuously the candidates we support from both the Democratic and Republican parties are more loyal to the principles in the Republican Party platform than the Republican establishment-backed candidates are. FRC Action is proud to stand by people loyal to conservative principles like Senator Jim DeMint (R-S.C.), and others. FRC Action PAC will continue to work to help conservative candidates in both primaries and general elections - no matter what the establishment whines about," concluded Perkins.

This weekend, FRC Action will hold its fifth annual Values Voter Summit at the Omni Shoreham Hotel in Washington, D.C. A presidential and vice presidential straw poll, exhibit hall, book signings, new media row sponsored by Media Research Center and much more will be packed into this three-day conference.

I saw Karl Rove talk about her on Sean Hannity last night and couldn't believe how ugly he was! I'm so glad she won!
