Dover coloring books sale - 4-for-3 at Amazon

Amazon is having a 4-for-3 sale right now, so it's a great time to stock up on Dover coloring books.

First, if you're new here, I want you to know why coloring books can be of enormous benefit to your child in developing concentration and pincer grasp for handwriting control. The wonderful thing is that Dover has a line of over 500 coloring books with great educational value. My grown-up kids have fond memories of growing up with Dover.

Dover has something for every child's interests - from ships, planes, cowboys, and pirates to ballet and costumes. Many periods of history are covered, including Old Testament and New Testament times. Lots of science - botany, biology, astronomy and even human physiology. And wonderful focus on the arts. This means as your child is concentrating on the coloring, they are imprinting vivid visuals, learning lessons that will stay with them forever. This is one way to make them passionate about what they are learning.

I have rounded up a random assortment here so you can see how diverse Dover's offerings are. I've listed 242 here. If you are as excited about Dover coloring books as I am, this 4-for-3 sale is a great time to stock up. You can tuck them away for Christmas or birthdays, for days when your children need something new to absorb their attention, or for birthday gifts with staying power. I don't know how long the 4-for-3 sale will last, but Amazon will not honor stuff you put in your shopping cart now and then checkout with once they withdraw the sale.

Also don't forget to use the Super Saver shipping option at checkout for free shipping on orders over $25.

I've also included several size sets of Prismacolor pencils - which are not on sale. While these seem pricey compared to what you find in Target or Walmart, this is one instance where you truly get what you pay for. These pencils are superb and will give your child the best coloring experience.

You can also sign up to receive a weekly email from Dover with links to several FREE coloring pages from their books.

Love,

Don't limit yourself to children -- my mother who is in her late 70s spends a lot of time coloring the more complicated Dover coloring books. They have them with fine art, costume history, and other themes such as mandalas and japanese prints. I got her a set of Prismacolor pencils and she is having such a great time that she says she no longer watches the tv, but sits and colors.

p.s. Word of warning. Prismacolor has wonderful deep colors, but they are soft and you need an electric sharpener. They break off in the old-fashioned grinding ones.

My grandkids have enjoyed Dover coloring books. It's been several years, but I think the older boys had a historical theme. Our 4 year old granddaughter loved the Hans Christian Anderson Little Mermaid coloring book. , & I placed an order this week for the Wonderful World of Horses for her.

Their content and design are far superior to the popular culture ones at the big box stores and Wallgreens.

Great timing! I wanted to order a few of these for a unit we are doing on Space and Space exploration. Ordered a few more while I was at it. I love the dover books. I haven't invested in prisma color yet, but am thinking about, I really love the way they color.
