Secretariat - a must see for your family

I am working on a more lengthy review of Secretariat, but it's taking a while as I have to work around my family's needs - not to mention the big seasonal clothes switcheroo.
But I don't want to wait to tell you to take your family to see Secretariat this weekend. It's an uplifting, exciting movie that is extremely respectful of uppity women - something we're not seeing a lot of these days.
The story is compelling and inspirational. And though I am not a horse person, the race sequences had me almost out of my seat.
I'm a real fan of Rotten Tomatoes for movie reviews, but this is one of those cases where the elites don't get it about movies that make real people's hearts sing.
I don't want to tip my hat about where my review is going, but let's just say you need to see this now - prior to the election :)

Love reading about your enthusiasm for "Secretariat"- we (kids & I) are going to see the movie tomorrow...and my parents are going to join us!

Thanks for the tip, Barbara! I read the article about the director in World magazine and already knew I wanted to see the movie, even though I am not a 'horse person' either. Do you think the movie is appropriate for my 5 year old girls?
