Muslims invade Mass, kill 52 Catholics in Iraq church

our lady of salvation church.jpgYet another atrocity/slaughter by adherents of the "religion of peace"

When are we gonna get that the "peace" piece will only come when everyone submits to Islam - whose name means submission?

And to think this isn't considered newsworthy by the US Media because it might make even more people realize that we don't have to tolerate a Muslim Victory Mosque over the remains of 9/11 victims.

Catholics Killed at Mass in Iraq: Extremist Muslims invade Church, Murder Priest
* By Deacon Keith Fournier
* 11/1/2010

We urge the global readers of Catholic Online to pray for the dead, pray for their families, pray for the wounded and pray for - and stand in solidarity with - our Christian brothers and sisters in Iraq.

One report concerning the state of the Church after the security forces stormed in to attempt to rescue the Christians is particularly horrifying. It came from a police officer, "It's a horrible scene. More than 50 people were killed. The suicide vests were filled with ball bearings to kill as many people as possible. You can see human flesh everywhere. Flesh was stuck to the top roof of the hall. Many people went to the hospitals without legs and hands." It is time for an international outcry of Catholics and other Christians. We must stand with our Christian brothers and sisters.

BAGHDAD, Iraq (Catholic Online) - They gathered in Our Lady of Salvation Catholic Church for an evening Mass. They are members of an increasingly besieged and forgotten minority in Iraq, Catholic Christians. Their herosm and love for the Lord has inspired them to continue to practice the ancient faith in the midst of what is a steadily deteriorating situation for them in this land they have called home for centuries.

Our Lady of Salvation Church is no stranger to violence. Churches have been bombed before in Iraq, including Our Lady of Salvation. The Christian faithful have had to contend with an increasingly hostile culture. However, never before have they experienced the horror of what happened this past Sunday when terrorists invaded a Church as the Holy Mass was set to begin, killed the priest and held the worshippers hostage for four hours. It ended with at least 52 dead, others injured, and our brothers and sisters in Iraq devastated.

Reports confirm that 120 of the faithful had gathered to hear the Gospel proclaimed, participate in the Liturgy, and receive the Holy Eucharist. There were women, men and children. One eyewitness who had been inside the Church when the terrorists entered the sanctuary told European news sources that the armed terrorists "came into the prayer hall and immediately killed the priest". Out of fear the witness would not identify himself. However, he also attested to the brutality of the terrorists. He indicated that they beat the worshippers and then herded them into an inner hall.

This makes my stomach turn. How tragic for the people who were murdered, for their families, for the community and for the world. We can't turn our eyes away from this kind of violence.

How do we answer people who will write these murderers off as just extremists? The ones who will say that this does not represent all Muslims? As a Christian, I speak out when I hear about other 'Christians' committing horrible acts in the name of Christ (Westboro Baptist comes to mind. I can't think of anyone that has blown up themselves and a church in the name of God.) Where are the Muslims speaking out against these atrocities?

I just saw this headline on another website & I immediately headed over here to see if you had anything about it.

How awful, and yet a stark reminder of how comfortable our lives are here in the US. I am thankful that we can worship freely without concern for our lives. I am heartbroken at the violence that Christians in other nations experience.

Priest's wife - I care. Very much. I'm just not surprised. It's beyond me why people want to allow this nightmare to come to the US. I pray for the conversion of Muslims and God's mercy upon them because I truly believe they are being misled.

This has gone through my mind as a possibility over here. Very sad. Remember, we know who triumphs in the end.

Priest's wife, just because there aren't a lot of comments doesn't mean that people aren't reading this and taking it to heart. What can we say? A lot of things I read and don't comment on because there's nothing for me to say.
We care very much. We know what's going on and we just need to pray.

I shared this link on our Oregon Tea Party Facebook page (I'm one of the moderators), so now two thousand more people are aware. We can't depend on the media to keep us informed. They're too busy lecturing us on "tolerance" and pretending that this isn't the kind of radicalism we're dealing with!

Where are the leaders of the world? From Washington to Moscow, from Beijing to Madrid, from Paris to Sydney, from Buenos Aires to London... no one has condemned this new atrocity except the Pope in Rome. Why? I wonder what the so-called leaders of our "free" and idiotized Western nations would have said if the massacre had occurred in a mosque? These murderers and terrorists cowardly killed over 58 people who innocently prayed inside a church. Women, children, old men and women, priests... for them their lives had no value and they could be slaughtered because they were Christians. This is the plain truth. Stop hipocrisy! Are these "the great and courageous" Allah warriors? BULLSHIT! (Excuse my French!) They are just a bunch of murdering butchers, the whole lot of them!
Please pray for the souls of these innocent people, for the injured and for the Christians who are really suffering persecution in Muslim nations today, yes, TODAY!!!

These murder victims are now martyrs and are in heaven.

I call upon our President, Barack Hussein Obama, to state forthrightly his revulsion from the despicable and cowardly actions of these Islamic terrorists! Further, I call upon President Obama to withdraw all military and economic support from Iraq immediately, unless the government of Iraq imprisons these terrorists and all of their supporters!
