Hallelujah Chorus Food Court "flash mob"
People are calling this a flash mob, but it's really so much more than that.
I know I ran this a short time ago, but I keep being drawn back to it and it still makes me cry.
Over 10 million views now - but in case you missed it:
Christmas Food Court Hallelujah Chorus
Does this really touch you the way it touches me?

Yes, it does. It made me cry, too.

AWESOME! Wish they'd all come here and sing that at our Wal-Mart! (we have no mall).

Yes this moves me deeply, also, Barbara! I believe it's due to the juxtaposition that we see in it. We have the most powerful truths of the universe combined with the most powerful music ever written being proclaimed with a backdrop of emptiness. I've heard it said that Handel remarked after writing the Hallelujah chorus that he saw a vision of heaven and the Great God himself. The Messiah oratorio is anointed. It is a communication from our Creator God himself! Thanks for sharing this video with us!
I pray that hearts would be opened to Jesus the Messiah. That indeed the kingdom of this world is become the Kingdom of our Lord and of His Christ!

Our priest mentioned this and the one in Macy's during his homily yesterday. It is very moving.

Do you really think this sort of thing belongs in a fast food joint?
Mixing people's faith with fast food will NOT result in more faith in God.. but instead it will end with us having an increased
FAITH in FAST FOOD..
I Can't see how this is anything more than an advertizing gimick.
I'm sorry but this is a terrible way to promote fast food..
sincerely,
William

William, I don't know if you're being for real or tongue-in-cheek.
If the latter, then haha! that's funny!
If the former, then I need to point out that Jesus mingled with the common folk and a food court is where you find the common folk today. I'm also reminded how the disciples scolded Mary Magdalene for pouring out the precious ointment - which represented a year's wages - to anoint Jesus - and Jesus rebuked them.
I see this divinely-inspired music being poured out as on the ones you deem unworthy as very much an act of divine mercy and blessing.
And btw, the food court was the backdrop. The merchants did not sponsor this event that I know of, but merely agreed to allow it to be staged.
Let go of the Scrooge and look at this from God's point of view. Jesus came for the sick and unworthy - not for those who are convinced of their own righteousness.
Hope you have a transformational Christmas!

I finally watched this, after seeing it posted on facebook and having it sent to me in emails. I was in tears, seeing our Lord praised in the depths of modern hell - the shopping mall. And I could see people singing along who were clearly not part of the choir. It makes me think two things: 1) "every knee shall bow and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord" and 2) I better teach my kids the Hallelujah Chorus, since I'm confident we'll be singing it "forever and ever!"

I immediately thought that your older kids should orchestrate something like this at your local mall!
