You should take voice lessons - opera humor
This is for a select audience. With an opera singer son and two daughters studying I laughed out loud:

Oh my gosh! So true, so true.
People have no idea. And I'm not a professional singer. I majored in piano in college and it's true. We don't get the respect because people think it's all fluff and it's not. I used to accompany singers. The school wanted to give me a half scholarship for a Masters accompaniment degree but I said no. Are they crazy? It gets you nowhere after college and you still have half tuition to play PLUS the accompanist gets worked to death. Everyone wants you and the accompaniment is HARD.
Being a professional musician is not easy. If you do it, it's for the absolute love of it.
